More adventures….

A very sluggish team meandered down to breakfast this morning after a busy day building and kayaking. Spirits picked up as we approached the build site and saw how much we had already achieved.

Everybody set to work in their various teams, working like troopers as we knew the second group would leave for their turn to kayak after lunch. (The students were split into two groups and were accompanied by teachers and RawImpact staff over two afternoons on a paddle down the Mekong.)

Keep on, keeping on

Keep on, keeping on

On return, we met the other members of the tour for pizza at Soraya kayaking to end another amazing day.

  1. It’s amazing to see what you are accomplishing! You are doing such a fantastic job – you must be a little tired by now! So good that you can mix it with such fantastic interludes like kayaking down the Mekong! Keep up the great work – you are all doing us proud 🙂

  2. My heart is brimming with pride. Not only for you Lachlan but the whole group collectively. A heart warming example of a young generation willing to take themselves out of their comfort zones and apply newly acquired skills for a purpose we can barely comprehend. As your parents we dream and aspire to provide you with experiences that will enrich your lives. At your tender age you have already achieved these on behalf of Cambodian parents who love their children no less yet could only dream to provide their children with what we take for granted. You have truly made dreams come true for an entire family and this in turn will shape their lives for the positive. They will be fuller and more enriched for the community services that you have offered. One day you may be parents and will realise the enormity of what you have achieved on this tour. Bravo to a wonderful group of young people. Be very very proud of yourselves.

  3. How we feel in our hearts as parents is captured in the above comments. I would love to be a shadow beside you to feel the overwhelming sense of achievement that you should all be feeling. The photos of kayaking on the Mekong River are sensational. The sore fingers, bruised knees & hot conditions pale in comparison to the team work and the knowledge that you all did it and changed a family’s life forever. As a group you will share this experience that no one else will understand. Keep enjoying each day.
