Day 2: The Activities Begin

Today we visited the Mai Organic Farm and spent time learing about the fruits and vegetables. We picked our own food and prepared our lunch with the help of the Balinese farmers, learning all about traditional Balinese cooking techniques Afterwards we went to the beautiful rice terraces and explored the landscape by walking up the terraces. After relaxing at the resort a short walk down the street for dinner was much needed.

They have landed!

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

I have just received notification that the flight has landed and they are making their way to immigration. Our liaison on the ground, Michael from Five Pillars is waiting to meet them and they will then make their way to Ubud. You may not hear from the tour direct until much later, I’m sure they will be busy.

Kind regards

Donna

Bon Voyage

Dear Team,

The date has almost arrived. This time tomorrow you will be in Ubud. I would like to thank all of the students for working so hard with their preparation and fundraising. You are a very strong team and you have wonderful staff to support you in this journey. Embrace this experience, you are about to create memories that will remain with you long after you leave school.

Parents, I would also like to thank you. Without your support this tour would not be possible.

Enjoy, and I look forward to hearing about the adventure when you return.

Regards

Donna Wilson

Good afternoon everyone,

The countdown is on!

Please find some key details below for the final days before we leave.

You may need your seat allocation for this, please find them below:

2) Health pass form (Screen shot the QR code at the end)

https://sshp.kemkes.go.id/

3) Please ensure you have either physical copies or screenshots of each pre flight form (Visa, tourist levy, customs, health pass).

3) Please make sure you wear your Bali tour shirts to the airport.

  • It is cold in Aus, however when we land in Bali it will be quite warm, so be prepared for this clothing-wise

4) There are major construction works happening near terminals 1 and 2. As per the article linked below, it may take 30min extra to get to the airport. Please account for this in your planning.

Final Parent and Student Meeting June 10

Dear Parents/Caregivers and Students,

Departure date is not long now and we are sure there are some very excited students. Before the tour departs we would like to have a last meeting with parents/caregivers and students. The meeting will be at Duncraig Campus in the Science Forum on Tuesday June 10, 4.15 to 5pm. We will revise the itinerary, packing list and other tour information.

It is very important that at least one parent from every family attends the meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

5) Itinerary PPT

  • Please find the powerpoint below outlining the itinerary for the trip as a bit of a refresher.
  • Please note the times to arrive at the airport on 28th June.
  • Itinerary PPT (PDF version)

6) Mobile Phones and Sim cards/Data

  • We will be creating a Whatsapp group at the airport before we depart, this will be used throughout the trip. Please ensure you have Whatsapp set up prior to arriving at the airport.
  • For safety reasons, we need to be able to contact each of you at any time whilst in Bali. As such you will need access to mobile data.
  • There are multiple options for mobile data whilst overseas, please see the flowchart below to decide with your parents/guardians which option you will be going with.

Mobile Data Options

  • All students will soon receive an email with an editable spreadsheet. Please complete this to indicate which data option you are going with. This will tell me if I need to organise a company to come out to the hotel or not for the Indonesian sims.

7) Spending Money

  • All meals are included in the cost of the tour.
  • Students are welcome to bring any spending money if they wish. There are opportunities towards the end of the tour to do some shopping and may be able to purchase snacks if required.
  • Approximately $200 Aud is the recommended spending money. This is more than enough and they are likely to not spend all of it.
  • Students may bring an international card (i.e.: Wise card), however cash will be needed for any shopping. You may elect to bring some cash and keep some on a card. This is personal preference.
  • Please exchange all money to Indonesian Rupiah prior to departure. Due to being a large group, it will be difficult to exchange money upon arrival.
