Indonesian Learning App

Good morning all,

I hope our activities are coming along well. Also, for those who are still finishing of their fundraising keep at it!

Hannah has found a great app for learning Indonesian. This app allows you to select different topics (i.e.: greetings, numbers etc.) to focus on. If you are struggling with the structure of Duolingo then please give this a try.

The app is called “Learn Indonesian – Beginners” by BNR Languages. Attached is a screenshot of the app itself.

Just reminder of what is required before next meeting:

  1. Activities for Bali Life must be planned and ready to go
  2. Prizes for raffle (collect from shops)
  3. Fundraising to be completed AND handed in.
  4. Continued language study

If you have any questions, please come see one of the tour staff.

Kind regards,

Mr Johnstone

Senior Music Concert Fundraising Event for Bali Service Learning Tour

Big thank you to those students and parents that helped make our fundraising event so successful last night. A huge crowd attended the Senior Music Concert in the Duncraig Theatre and were treated to delicious pre-show and interval treats supplied by students, parents and grandparents! Much enjoyment was had as we counted the coins throughout the evening.

We raised a total of $263.25. Equivalent to IDR 2777013.44. Not bad for gold coin donations. With these funds we will purchase personal items to make care packs for mothers attending the Kuta Street Centre and Suwung community.

Thank you for the team effort!

Tomorrow, plates of leftovers will be collected and provided to staff rooms throughout the school for staff to contribute to our total by purchasing their morning tea or lunch treat.

Updated Meeting Dates + Tour Information

Good afternoon all,

As discussed in today’s meeting, our next meeting will be on Tuesday 14th May.

By this meeting you MUST have the following ready:

  1. Activities for Bali Life must be planned and ready to go
  2. Prizes for raffle (collect from shops)
  3. Fundraising to be completed AND handed in.
  4. Bahasa study to be completed (Duolingo, youtube videos)

We are around 8 weeks out from the tour and it is time to get cracking. This tour has the opportunity to bring a lot of good to those who are less fortunate, but that will only happen if we put in the work.

Latest Travel Update Bali

Dear Parents and Students,

You may have been made aware recently through the media of the increased risk to travellers of Dengue Fever in Bali. I have enquired through my local GP and also have referred to the Smart Traveller website for information and precautions to follow.

I have attached a link to the Smart Traveller website for you to read. Please scroll down the page to Dengue Fever and follow the prompt. If you have any questions, please seek independent medical advice.
