Term 4, Week 7

A Wonderful Few Weeks Ahead!

As we approach the end of the year, we have an exciting couple of weeks filled with opportunities to celebrate the achievements, growth and spirit of our students. These events are not just milestones, they are moments that reflect the hard work, resilience and participation of every child in the life of our school community.

From Presentation Night to the Nativity performance, the Year 6 Primary Graduation and the joyful class celebrations in the final week, each occasion is a chance to come together and acknowledge the effort and enthusiasm our students have shown throughout the year.

Our celebrations will conclude with the Fun Rainbow Run on the very last day, a vibrant and energetic way to finish the year on a high note!

It’s important to remember that these events are about more than awards or recognition. They are about celebrating every student’s contribution, whether big or small and the sense of belonging that makes our school community so special. Every child has played a part in shaping this year and these moments allow us to honour that collective effort.

We encourage all families to join us in these celebrations, supporting not only your own child but also their peers. Together, we create an environment where every student feels valued and proud of their journey.

Thank you for being part of this wonderful community. Let’s make these final weeks memorable for all!

Languages Week Celebrations

On Wednesday, 26 November, Primary students will have the opportunity to purchase a French pastry or biscuit from the canteen during recess. Each item will cost approximately $1.00. Students who wish to participate should bring cash. This is a wonderful chance for students to celebrate diverse cultures and cuisines while enjoying a taste of French food.

FIRST LEGO League Celebration: Fossil Force Wins Engineering Excellence Award!

We are thrilled to announce that during last Friday’s FIRST LEGO League Competition, our team, Fossil Force achieved an incredible milestone by winning the Engineering Excellence Award!

This award recognizes a team that demonstrates:

  • An efficiently designed robot
  • An innovative project solution that effectively addresses the season’s challenge
  • Strong core values evident in everything they do

Fossil Force impressed the judges with their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Their achievement is a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of our students.

Even more exciting, Fossil Force has qualified for the next stage of the competition and will be competing on 13 December! We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.

Congratulations to Fossil Force! We are incredibly proud of your dedication and the outstanding way you represented our school community.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Crouch and Mr Simms for their guidance and support throughout the competition and for all the preparation that helped our students succeed.

Farewell and New Beginnings

As the year draws to a close, we share some bittersweet news. Our wonderful Physical Education teacher, Miss Nicol, will be leaving us. Her energy and enthusiasm have brought vibrancy to our school and we thank her for her dedication. We wish her all the best as she embarks on an exciting travel adventure.

We also say goodbye to our talented French teacher, Madame Thomas, who is moving on to teach in a secondary school setting. Her passion and joie de vivre have enriched our classrooms and we are grateful for all she has contributed.

Looking ahead, we are delighted to welcome Madame Branch as our new French teacher and Miss Jones as our new Physical Education teacher. We’re thrilled to welcome their enthusiasm and the unique strengths they’ll share with our students.

Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate these transitions.

Warm regards

Madame Pilote and Mrs Langley

Children’s University

I am looking forward to the graduation even this Wednesday evening at ECU, Joondalup.  If you are one of our graduating students, please remember to wear your formal summer uniform (white shirts for everyone please).  Please arrive at ECU from 4.00pm to allow time to find your graduation regalia and have some great photo opportunities before entering the theatre for seating and instructions. Guests will be invited in before the ceremony which will start at 5.00pm.  There will be light refreshments following the ceremony.

We can also continue to look forward to next year’s graduation event and continue to accrue hours in your passport.  I have attached a booklet on Codes of Football where you can earn up to 5 hours by completing all the activities.  Do it this weekend or save it for something to do in the holidays.

Wrapping up 2025 with colour and celebration!

By popular demand and to finish the year on a high, we will be holding a Final Assembly at approximately 10.30am in the Primary Forum, followed by a Fun Rainbow Run on The Green at around 11.00am on Friday 5 December. All parents are warmly invited to join us!

Key Details:

  • Kindy students will be dismissed at 11:00am. Parents are welcome to accompany their child and join in the Fun Rainbow Run on The Green.
  • Pre-Primary to Year 6 students will be dismissed at 12.00pm. They will remain under the supervision of their classroom teachers until dismissal; however, parents are warmly invited to stay and enjoy the excitement of our Fun Rainbow Run following the Assembly!
  • Safety Note: We strongly encourage students to wear swimming goggles or glasses to protect their eyes. Staff will always endeavour to aim the powder from the waist down, but as this is a busy activity, we would rather play it safe.

It promises to be a fantastic way to wrap up our 2025 academic year! We recommend families bring a few spare garbage bags to protect car seats… students are sure to be a little messy after their run!

We look forward to celebrating this special day with you and ending the year with joy and community spirit!
