Term 4, Week 2

Loud Shirt Day 2022

Exciting news! Loud Shirt Day is fast approaching, we will be celebrating this on Thursday 20 October (week 2 of Term 4).

Loud Shirt Day is the perfect excuse to wear your brightest shirt and get LOUD and PROUD to raise money to help give the gift of sound and speech to deaf children.

This year we are:

  • Inviting the students to wear their loudest shirts for a gold coin donation
  • Having a class
  • ‘Design a Loud Shirt’ competition
  • Celebrating being LOUD with a lunchtime disco in the forum

With thanks from the St Stephen’s TSH team!

TERM 4 RUNNING CLUB K – 6 (starting Week 3)

Running Club is back for Term 4, starting in Week 3! All students in Kindy to Year 6 are encouraged to join Miss Uglow on the Primary Green on THURSDAY MORNINGS to run as many laps around the Green as you can! No matter what your ability is, come on down to earn House points, improve your fitness, build your confidence and run your way towards a healthier lifestyle.

Each participating student will be given their own Running Club lapathon card to count their laps every week. Students will earn 1 Running Club House Point for every lap they complete around the Primary Green. Overall Running Club  House Points will be announced at assembly, with the winning House announced at the end of the term. Running Club lapathon cards must be left with Miss Uglow at the end of each session. Students who attended the club last term will resume running with the same lapathon card again this term.

We will meet on the Primary Green every Thursday morning from 8.00am onwards (commencing Week 3). Come dressed in your sport uniform or normal school uniform and running shoes. You can still participate even if you are not dressed in your sport uniform! Everyone is welcome – you do not need to sign up to participate in this club. Run at your own pace and come and go as you please. Parents/guardians and younger siblings are encouraged to join in too.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact hannah.uglow@ststephens.wa.edu.au

Jump Rope for Heart 2022

Jump Rope for Heart is back for Term 4! Jump Rope for Heart is a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that has been run by the Heart Foundation for over 36 years. It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs. Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $104 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work.

It’s important you register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising, simply follow the link below to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents

Students will be practicing their skipping at school and home, and during this time you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.

We will hold our school Jump Off Day on Wednesday 16 November (Week 6), and this will mark the end of the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their newly learned skills.

Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!
