Term 3 – Notices – Week 9

Dear Parents, Students and Community,

What a great day to start off the last week of Term 3. The students had their non uniform fundraising day today. Both the ELC and 3 – 6 have raised money for their chosen causes, Canteen Australia and Harvest Day Ministries. Thank you to our families for your support today.

This week at the ELC, we have our end of term ‘Meal Deal’ taking place this Tuesday. On Wednesday, our youngest students in Pre Kindy, will be having their ‘PJ’ day. Then on Friday, the Year 1 and 2 students will have the opportunity of seeing our Primary Chorale in action. Parents, please come and join us for this special end of term event.

At 3-6 we have the Interschool Athletics Carnival for selected students on Tuesday and Wednesday. We wish them the very best for the Competition. Year 6’s will be holding their “Jam Poetry” evening on Wednesday, please see the class blogs for further information.  Our assembly on Friday will be led by the Kimberley Tour students who return this week. We can’t wait to hear about what they have been up to on the tour.

As we now draw to the end of term, we wish you and your family a very happy holiday. For those travelling around our beautiful state, safe travels. We pray that this holiday period will be an opportunity for connection and rest.

Warm regards,

Hannah Lockwood-Jones and Jarrod Heglund

Term 3 – Notices – Week 8

Good Afternoon Families and Friends,

Firstly we would like to congratulate all students who took part in the 3-6 Athletics Carnival last week. It was a lovely day and wonderful to see so many parents cheering the houses on. Well done to Alethea who were overall champions for 2021. Our ELC students will have their carnival in Term 4, maybe this will be the time for Carana or Timae to turn the tables?

Kimberley Tour

On Sunday we saw some of our Year 6 & 7 set off for the  Kimberley. We wish them the very best for their tour as they explore the beautiful Kimberley region. Students and teachers will be returning on the 20 September.

Canteen ELC

On Tuesday 21 September the canteen are providing the opportunity to order a special end of term Meal Deal. Please go online to order a meal for your child.

Car Parking / Drop Off and Pick Up

Several staff and parents have raised their concerns that the bottom car park at Doveridge Drive is being used for Kiss and Drive. Please be aware that the car park is not to be used for Kiss and Drive. We have allocated a specific area in the Primary school for Kiss and Drive. This area is supervised and its location chosen  to support the safe movement of children whilst on the school premises. Please feel free to park at the bottom car park but we kindly request that it is not used for Kiss and Drive purposes.

As we finish this term off well, with so many opportunities for our students, we want to thank our amazing staff for consistently going above and beyond for the students in their care. We would also like to thank our families for supporting our staff and these events.  We have many parents that offer their time, expertise and support to the school, which enables us to offer more for our students. We are blessed to have such a wonderful community.

Warm regards

ELC FUNDRAISER – NON-UNIFORM DAY MONDAY 20 SEPTEMBER – FRUITFUL HARVEST

(Please bring along your donations)

What a blessing your school is to so many hurting children here in Zimbabwe.

Our schools are starting up on the 6 of September. As you can imagine children all over the world have been hearing about COVID, and have had to change their lives around because of it.

After over a year of lockdown, getting to go to school only having to stop again. The children we reach out to have no way of getting their education through Zoom or any other online studies.  This means that they just get further and further behind in ther studies.

We are so thankful that your school is wanting to do a fundraiser for these children.

 https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Nonprofit-Organization/Fruitful-Harvest-Zimbabwe-478202362199191/

This year we now have 3 teachers who will be going into the schools every week and doing worship and telling Bible stories through the Time With Jesus program.  And because of your help we will also be able to give eggs to them as well!!!

Thank you all for doing your part to help other children in a country so far away!!! May God bless you, your school and your families for they way you always think of others.

Term 3 – Notices – Week 7

Good afternoon Parents and Guardians,

I hope you all had a wonderful Fathers’ Day on Sunday, spending time honouring and remembering the dads and other important father-figures in your lives. Also, thank you so much for the incredible turnout to the events we held on Friday morning. It was just a pleasure to see so many dads come along.

As we look forward to Week 7 (only three to go!), here are a few dates to remember:

  • PAT Testing will continue across the week
  • Monday 6 – Year 2 Water Corp Incursion
  • Tuesday 7 – PP Tinkering Zone Incursion
  • Wednesday 8 – Year 3-6 Jumps and Throws Carnival
  • Friday 10 – Year 3-6 Sprints and Team Games Carnival
  • Monday 20 September – It’s not this week, but it’s coming up at the ELC – Harvest Ministries Zimbabwe fundraiser

As a friendly reminder, please remember to not park in the Kiss and Drive areas, as this can really negatively impact the flow of traffic through the school. We know it gets busy at times, so keeping the Kiss and Drive flowing is a simple step to help.

Inter House Athletics Carnival – Year 3 to 6

Wednesday 8 September – jumps, throws, 800m

Friday 10 September – sprints, team games

Dear Parents and Students,

Please scan carefully through the programs and information accessed through the links. The Information for Parents sheet outlines many of the common questions that parents and students have regarding the two days of competition(HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING THIS CAREFULLY FIRST). The Wednesday jumps and throws program indicates the events and times for each class. The Friday sprints and team games program indicates what division each student will compete in. The Friday team games list indicates the team games that each student will be involved in(you may need to click on the tabs below to find the correct gender and year group). Please ensure that there are no clerical errors in the program, which is very possible when constructing the spread sheets. Please let me know at daniel.parker@ststephens.wa.edu.au if you identify any issues.
