Monday morning was spent in lessons and in the afternoon we went to Terre de Sel, the local salt marshes where the famous salt of Guérande is made. We had a tour of the marshes and the process of salt production was explained to us.

Host Families- Some Pictures
Students spent the weekend with their host families, some students visited Vannes, some went to Belle Ile, some went out to local villages for lunch and others dancing and high ropes & some just had fun at home.

Pirac Sur Mer
Friday was a bus trip to Piriac Sur Mer a traditional Breton fishing village. We walked the scenic streets before heading along the coastal path for a (long) walk to the next village before heading back to Guérande for Crêpes and Galettes!

Nantes
Today we headed via train to Nantes the nearest biggest city with some of our French hosts. We started with a tour of a Chateau, then wandered through the town to see the city then on to Les machines a very cool exhibition. A very busy long day but lots of fun was had by all.
First Day of School
Photos from our first day at school. After the breakfast we had a tour of the school, tour of the town, lunch in a creperie then lessons with our hosts.
Welcome Breakfast
This morning, the students and staff enjoyed a welcome breakfast with the principal at our partner school. As has become traditional on our international tours, the school was presented with their very own St Stephen’s School koala! The English teacher there was also presented with one!
On a side note, I will collate all the pictures into a shared OneDrive folder which I will share with everyone on their return to Perth.

And… They’re Off!
Well… after several years of planning and preparation, and several months of fevered excitement, the students finally departed Perth Airport and headed towards France for the experience of a lifetime.
There were lots of hugs from parents, lots of energy, passports in hand.
Remember this is the place where we will post updates from the Tour.
