Wednesday 26 June Team Meeting

Less than 2 months until we leave for Bali, team!

Our next team meeting is on Wednesday 26 June at 3:40 pm at Duncraig. It is vital that ALL students attend this meeting. Please make arrangements to ensure that you are there for it. Mr Drake will be in touch with Carramar students about transport to Duncraig for the meeting.

Important information regarding flight details and what to pack will be provided via this blog in the coming weeks before that meeting.

Another $230 for the tour.

Thanks for helping out on Friday night and today at recess selling cakes. We split the money we made on Friday night – 50/50 – with the Bethanie Tour. That plus the money we made from selling some drinks gave us $230 for Bali Life! Great effort at short notice everyone. Well done!

Duncraig Bake Sale

Hello Team

Thank you for your contributions towards the Senior Music Concert last night. We teamed up with Bethanie Home (Malaysia) Tour Group and sold around half of the cakes/slices etc. Miss Prosser (Bethanie Home Tour Team) and I decided to pack the rest up and store them in the fridges in Carana and Timae. On Monday we will get them out and sell them at recess and/or lunch in the Quad. We’ll email you (Duncraig team) with instructions so please read your emails on Monday morning.

Kind regards

Ms Tinney

$10 000!

It’s official. We have cracked the $10 000 mark with our fundraising for Bali Life!

Well done everyone. That is terrific.

Let’s hope tonight at the Senior Music Concert (Duncraig) that we can bring home a couple of hundred dollars more to give to Bali Life.

Pat yourselves on the back. We are an awesome team.

Thank God too for the amazing opportunities we have been provided with to make a difference in the world like this.

Quiz Night

Good morning Team

Last night we took in just over $1500 in cash at the Quiz Night. That coupled with the ticket sales sees us raising around $2500 through the Quiz Night overall. Isn’t that fabulous!

$575 of that was raised through the Silent Auction so thank you so much for the effort you went to, to get donations from sponsors, that really paid off!

Please join us in thanking Mr Tim Drake for his amazing work in putting together all the questions for the evening. It was such a good night!

Important Reminder: Immunisations –  After visiting your GP and getting advice on immunisations for your child for Bali, please email andrea.tinney@ststephens.wa.edu.au with an email stating that you have consulted your GP and you are satisfied that your child is adequately immunised for the Indonesia Service Learning Tour to Bali in July 2019. The school requires these emails as soon as possible. Please make this a priority.

We require this email by 31/5/19.

Donations and Prizes for the Quiz Night

Our Quiz Night is on Friday 10 May from 7pm to 9:30pm in Cousins Hall.

Please use the Donation Letter you were given to approach businesses and ask for donations that can be used as prizes or items for the silent auction on the night. (Quiz Night Donation Letter 2019-tygzko)

We would like to thank our sponsors by:

  • placing business cards on each table
  • a poster above each item for the silent auction stating the value of the item, the business that donated it and their contact details
  • flyers on the tables
  • special mentions on awarding the prizes donated and silent auction items sold
  • Audio visual promotion on the night

Please take the time to personally collect these promotional materials from our generous sponsors and thank them for their generosity. These items (prizes and promotional materials) should be handed in to Ms Tinney by Wednesday 1 May 2019. There is a box with a lid in the Carana Staff Room for this.

Each student has been given 10 tickets (1 table) to sell. Tickets are $10 per seat. Tables should have 8-10 participants. Please return the money to Ms Tinney for the tickets by Wednesday 1 May 2019. My desk is in the Carana Staff room.

Don’t forget we have a meeting after school on Wednesday 8 May 2019 at Duncraig.

Wednesday 20 March Meeting

Hi All

We had a productive meeting today. Thanks for coming.

Ms Tinney showed you a good website for learning more about Indonesian Culture – https://culturalatlas.sbs.com.au/indonesian-culture

Good news – we have raised around $5000 so far!

Mr Drake brought t-shirts for us to try on and took our sizes for our Indonesia Service Tour t-shirts. If you weren’t able to make it, your friends guessed your size.

Mrs Ryan brought in Cadbury chocolates for fundraising. The money for the chocolates is due back on Wednesday 10 April. (Last week of this term) Thanks to Rachael and Aimee for already picking up theirs. Caleb, please see Mrs Ryan to get yours. These chocolates will provide us with $900 for Bali Life. Thank you for selling them. If you need any more, please see Mrs Ryan.

Ms Tinney talked about the upcoming Quiz Night on Friday 10 May (Term 2 Week 2) in Cousins Hall, Duncraig. Tickets will be sold for $10 each. Each student is to fill a table of 10 people ($100 for the table). Mr Drake will make tickets and posters for the Quiz Night. Students are also to source donations from businesses to use as prizes on the night or for a silent auction. Sponsors may advertise on the night with their business cards and/or A4 posters that will be placed on the tables.

Our next meeting is Wednesday 10 April (last week of term) to collect the chocolate money and organise who will be doing what at the Quiz Night. Please put that date in your calendar.

15 March Sausage Sizzle Success

Today we made just over $600 at Bunnings for Bali Life. Well done team!

Please remember we have a Meeting after school at the Community Room this Wednesday 20 March at Duncraig. We aim to be finished by 4:30pm. See you then!
