LOUD SHIRT & SOCK DAY

This year, Loud Shirt Day will take place in the Primary School at St. Stephen’s on Friday 12 October.  This is Friday of week 1 at the start of Term 4. Once again this day provides us with a fantastic opportunity to get loud and show your support for children with hearing impairment around Australia.

This year we thought we could make it Loud Shirt and Socks day.  We encourage you to wear your brightest loudest shirt and socks, together with the rest of your normal school uniform.  Also, next term, each class will also be making a giant loud shirt to be displayed in the forum.

It’s a great opportunity to wear your brightest loudest shirt and socks and raise money to help give the gift of sound and speech to children with hearing impairment.  Whether you fancy stripes, florals, polka dots or paisley, as long as your shirt and socks have colour and pizzazz, they will be perfect for Loud Shirt Day.  You may even want to make your own!  We would ask each child to make a gold coin donation.  Your donation will help Telethon Speech & Hearing to support children with hearing impairment to be fully included in school. Your support will open doors to better education and employment choices, social integration with the hearing world and will support young hearing impaired people to contribute to their community.

Telethon Speech & Hearing receive only a portion of their funding from state and federal governments, and rely heavily on corporate and community support and fundraising to raise the funds necessary to deliver intensive therapy services to those families that need them.  Thanks for all your support and I hope you all have a great Loud Shirt Day this year.
