Assembly tomorrow will be run by our combined Year 1 classes.
Telethon Speech and Hearing News
Last weekend saw two of our St Stephen’s Primary students participate in the Power of Speech Awards run by Telethon Speech and Hearing. This is an annual event where students present a 3 minute speech of their choice in front of an audience of about 200 people.
This year we had Amelie McCormack from Year 2 present a speech titled ‘My Favourite Things’ and Eamon Doak from Year 1 present one titled ‘It is What it is’.
Both Amelie and Eamon spoke with confidence and great expression and we were very, very proud of them. It was an especially exciting day for Eamon, who won his section.
Well done to both of you, you represented TSH, St Stephen’s School and yourselves admirably.
Both these students will present their speeches this Friday at The Loud Shirt and Sock Day assembly commencing at 2.45pm which will then be followed by our end of term PP-6 Worship.
The Wizard of Oz Production
As the term comes to a close, I would like to say how very proud I was of the Year 3 to 6 students who participated in the production of The Wizard of Oz. The quality of the performances was outstanding, the effort and dedication to doing things as well as possible was amazing and the experience gained by our students was simply incredible! You may, or may not, be aware of my background but, I can say from a professional viewpoint that the colour, staging, sets and utilisation of space was nothing short of brilliant; Alison Hignett, you are awesome!!!
To you, the parents, thank you for your support with this massive venture and, to the teaching staff, you always do so much for the growth and positive development of your students that I am grateful for your work every day.
Finally, to Alison and her production team, thank you for so very much….. time to rest until the next great idea.
To celebrate the end of term and raise money for Telethon Speech and Hearing, all students and staff are invited to wear their loudest shirt and socks this Friday 27 September for a gold coin donation. Looking forward to seeing all the bright colours coming together! Please see note above about the special assembly on Friday.
