Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease
Dear Parents,
There has been several reported cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in the ELC.
Symptoms include a temperature, sore throat, blisters on the inside of the mouth, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. This virus rarely causes serious complications and is a common childhood illness, however it can make the child feel quite unwell and very tired.
If you suspect your child might have hand, foot and mouth disease they will need adequate pain relief and need to be well hydrated. If you are in any way concerned about your child please see your G.P. I have included a link to the Department of Health fact sheet regarding hand food and mouth.

If your child has hand foot and mouth disease they will need to remain off school until they feel well and the blisters have completely dried as it is highly contagious.
Kind regards,

National School Cross Country Championships
5 Primary students represented WA in the National School Championships in Cross Country in Melbourne at the end of August. There were 7 States + New Zealand competing.
It was a great experience for the students to visit Melbourne, to watch older children competing and also to make new friends. They all felt proud to represent WA and it was good for them to see how much other talent was around Australia.
WA won the “Most Improved” Trophy and NSW won the overall trophy.
10 boys – 2km – Tait Saunders 1st, Dominic Saunders 7th
11 Boys – 3km – Harvey Kemp 8th, Benj Heathcote 33rd
