Try a Trade

Try a Trade is a 3 day course designed to give students a practical idea of different trades. The pictures below show students from the Duncraig and Carramar Campus participating in plastering, tiling and bricklaying. The boys were enjoying their first day and were so enthusiastic, the lecturer had to slow them down.

Transitioning from Childhood to Adolescence Workshop: What to Expect

Puberty brings lots of changes for your child – and for you as a parent too! Your child is transitioning from child to adult – and you may feel uncertain or have questions about how best to support them through the physical, psychological and emotional changes this brings. This evening workshop will equip parents with information about brain development in the “tween years”, what physical, psychological and other changes to expect and accept, more about puberty and mental health, parenting strategies on how you can support your child, and how you can partner with the school to ease the transition to high school.

Best suited for parents of children in Years 5, 6 and 7. No registration is required.

Water Wise

As part of their Science studies, Carramar’s Year 7 students were fortunate enough to learn firsthand about water sustainability from an Education Officer at the Water Corporation. Inspiring students to use less water, the presentation focussed on where we use water most in our households, and how much water Perth uses in a day (that’s 1GL – enough to fill the WACA to the top of the lights!).

Carramar Cross Country Champs

Our Carramar athletes put on a stellar performance at last week’s ACC Cross Country Carnival, placing 25th out of 75 schools! Congratulations to Aleesha Bailey and Madison Breeze who placed 18th and 22nd respectively in the Under 13 Girls, and Jeevna Heer who placed 17th in the Under 15 girls.

Duncraig’s Remy Rowse and Rachael Edwards have also just been announced as ACC Cross Country All-Stars for their awesome efforts. Well done everyone!

Happy Arts Day!

The Carramar campus was buzzing last Friday as Primary and Secondary students celebrated Arts Day with some creative fun in the sun. Among the face painting, games and chalk drawings, the cast of Grease the Musical donned their costumes and performed some famous tunes!

Carramar Rookie Debaters

The Carramar Rookie Debaters enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning to celebrate the end of the season. Our winning team, consisting of Shyna Shah, Siya Kothari, Jordane Sharafizad and Noah Carter, will now compete against the Duncraig Campus’ winning team. A big thank you to Mrs Eleanor Glacken who has organised this competition for our Year 6 & 7 students and all those students who participated.
