St Stephen’s School has proudly partnered with innovative global STEM education company Fire Tech to host its renowned holiday programs in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Fire Tech takes a STEM+approach to the growing areas of Science, Technologies, Engineering, Arts and Maths, working together with industry to offer an array of holiday tech courses for students.

Brooke Hurst (Carramar Year 11) continues to make great strides in the world of hockey, after being invited to train in the Western Australian Institute of Sport’s hockey programme.

She’s also been invited to a training camp in Canberra with the Australian Institute of Sport in March 2020.

It’s safe to say Carramar’s Sports Department are super proud of Brooke, who is the only player in her age group in WA to be afforded these opportunities.

After their outstanding efforts in Hospitality this year, Year 12s Naomi Velterop (Carramar) and Abigail Kemp (Duncraig) were both nominees for School Based Apprentice of the Year at the Hospitality Group Training WA Annual Awards. In fantastic news, Naomi was awarded Runner Up!

St Stephen’s Alumni Zac Tholen was also awarded the John Cox Memorial Trophy for most Outstanding Apprentice. What a way to top off 2019!

Two Carramar Year 7 students have lead the charge at the 2019 Interschool Language Competition to see

St Stephen’s School crowned the winner in the Year 7-8 French Language category! After writing and performing

an outstanding French play in Term 3, Year 7 students Amber Mansfield and Jordane Sharafizad had their video

entered into the competition and were awarded first place.

Secondary students from Carramar and Duncraig joined our friends from Rocky Bay at Neil Hawkins Park recently for a barbecue lunch.

This has become an annual event leading up to Christmas, but was the students’ first cross-campus barbecue.

The group had a great afternoon at one of their last catch-ups for 2019!

Carramar Year 7’s in the Athlete Development Program have recently been looking at the importance of nutrition in a sporting context and in everyday life.

Today they had the opportunity to get into the kitchen and make their own protein bliss balls, muesli bars, smoothies and fruit and vegetable juices.

With some tasty results, they learned that there are healthy and yummy alternatives to refined sugar!
