Year 9 SSS Carramar Students’ French Cooking Experience in Term 3
Mastering the art of making crêpes and madeleines
In week 8 on Carramar campus, Year 9 students in French – Isabelle Chatterton, James Buchanan and Travis Sirmans – perfected their technique of cooking crêpes and experienced the art of making madeleines in this hands-on French class dedicated to gastronomy. Reading the recipe in French languages and measuring the ingredients in grams or millimetres, not cups was part of the immersion. Eventually, we all enjoyed the delicious French sweet treats which were shared with Mrs Rachael Holt who welcomed us again in the home economics facilities.
SETTING THE PAICE

He has finished second in the State overall and has moved up a class to take on kids up to 16 years old. St Stephen’s School Lakeside Joondalup Community Food Cart Run
St Stephen’s School Lakeside Joondalup Community Food Cart Run
We are seeking interested families to participate in the School’s new community service. Once a week we visit the cafes at Lakeside Joondalup to collect their leftover produce at the conclusion of trade. This food is then collected by UnitingCare West Merriwa and distributed to families and schools in the northern suburbs that are currently experiencing hardship.
We share the roster along with our Carramar Primary and Secondary teachers and students, Rotary-our cart sponsors, and UnitingCare West. Your commitment is totally up to you; once a month, twice a month or even once every three months, whatever you wish. The run commences at 4.45pm and concludes at 5.30pm.
If you are interested in participating as a family or even with friends, please contact me on 0429 153 912 or email me volunteers@ststephens.wa.edu.au

Career Chat
Carramar Careers Advisor Mr Rob Crewe has launched a new series of lunchtime chats with alumni. Dubbed Hot Chocolate and Careers, Mr Crewe is lining up a series of alumni to come and chat to students interested in their field for inspiration. The series kicked off with 2015 alumni Leah Croser who works as a mental health nurse. More than 20 students showed up to hear about her experience in nursing and ask questions about taking the next step.
