St Stephen’s School’s motto – Serve God, Serve One Another – extends well beyond the walls of the School and last week Youth Minister Peter Tinley AM and Sabine Winton MLA visited the Carramar Campus to see how our value for serve impacts the wider community. Valuable Visit
Our Year 7 students warmly welcomed Salvation Army staff to the Carramar campus recently, taking part in a workshop to better understand the issues surrounding homelessness in Perth. The Salvation Army staff encouraged our young learners to think compassionately and wisely to form a Christ-centred response to these complex issues.

Year 12 Students and Parents
This is important information for all Year 12 students and their parents.
The Year 12 Information Handbook – Part 1 is now available on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) website https://www.scsa.wa.edu.au/publications/year-12-information
All year 12 students are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with this document. It contains valuable information on the requirements to achieve a WACE; WACE checker; Enrolments; Exams; Certification and the student portal. This document is for ALL Year 12 students, not just those sitting ATAR exams.
Most important for ALL students to complete, is the ‘Student Declaration and Permission’. Details of this are on page 21 of the Year 12 Information Handbook – Part 1.
Should you have any queries, please contact me in the Administration office or email me on: Kim.Dorney@ststephens.wa.edu.au
Antigone
Congratulations to the Year 11 and 12 Drama students on their production of Antigone by Sophocles.
The students each took on the task of directing a scene and a production role such as costume design, set design, researching the time period and/or lighting design. The students are studying the play as part of the ATAR Drama course, so this was a brilliant opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the text.
A special mention to Elijah Thomas from Year 10 who took on a role in the production only weeks before opening night.
Special Guests
Hi Apa Khabar – Hi How are you?
For the second year in a row, St Stephen’s School recently hosted staff from Bethany Home. Eleven visitors arrived for a ten day stay to undertake an agenda of school-based professional development, external visits to educational support centres, some reflective practise, fundraising, presentations at Primary Worship and Secondary House Devotions and holiday moments. Pastor Karthik, his family and his staff were made very welcome and were most grateful for the time and energy devoted by many of the SSS staff to ensure that their visit was both, enjoyable and successful.
The highlight was, once again, the fundraising dinner, Hi Apa Khabar, held on Monday 26 March in the canteen area, under lights and beautifully catered for by our Bethany friends. Enjoying beautiful Malaysian cuisine and moments of song and dance were students and staff from current and past Bethany tours, SSS staff and SSS families that have built new and lasting relationships with Pastor Karthik and the Bethany people. Over $1,700 was raised on the evening which was a wonderful result and testament to the support and generosity of those in attendance.
If you hear of this event around March next year and wish to be part of the special relationship that St Stephen’s has made with Bethany Home, please make a booking and join us.
Happy Easter
Mock Trial Triumph
Last week the St Stephen’s Carramar Mock Trials Team took part in the first round of the prestigious Law Society of WA Mock Trial Competition, held at the WA Supreme Court. The newly formed team secured a win for the Prosecution in a Criminal Matter versus Guildford Grammar School. The team’s confidence is high for Round 2!
