REAL-WORLD EQUATION

Our mathematically minded Carramar Secondary students recently entered the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge for the first time, walking away with a Participation Award for their efforts! Students worked in teams to solve a real world problem, applying a mathematical model to the situation, and were given five days to submit a 10-20 page report. Well done teams!

Perth School of Ballet

The Perth School of Ballet is now holding classes at Carramar.  Classes are held at the St Stephen’s Carramar Dance Studio every Saturday morning with our Director, Janine Ban.  To register your interest or for more info email info@perthschoolofballet.com.au or call Christine on 9203 6175.  First class is FREE so come on down for a trial!

UPCYCLE ACTION

Before you pop your bottle tops, straws and other small plastics in the recycle bin, we can use them! Our Carramar Year 10 students will be working with our Pre-Primary cohort on an outdoor mural later this term and need all the colourful plastic bits and pieces they can get their hands on. If you’re able to help, there will be a plastic collection spot in Carramar Reception until June 28.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE

We’re seeing some young coaches in the making at the Carramar campus, with Year 11 Cert 2 students recently coaching Year 2 students in AFL! Not only was the experience valuable for the Year 2 students, our Year 11 students were able to put their footy knowledge into practice and grow as leaders.

RUNNING FOR GLORY

Friday was filled with commitment and camaraderie as our students took part in their Cross Country Carnivals. Well done to everyone for their outstanding efforts, with a special congratulations going to the overall winning House, Makaria!
