The atmosphere was electric at HBF Arena yesterday as our Secondary students took part in their House Swimming Carnival! Stay tuned for results from yesterday’s awesome efforts.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Recently we welcomed back some of our Class of 2018 students! At the whole school assemblies, the new members of the 90s Club (top scoring ATAR students) passed on their advice to our current students, giving them a spark of inspiration as they begin to navigate another school year.

An Exciting Challenge

Our Year 9 students have travelled to camp under the stars at our Nanga site this Term. Through activities like hiking, a tree top high ropes course, river rafting, mountain bike riding and more, students were encouraged to challenge themselves as they become self-aware, responsible and resilient young adults.

Top Prize

We are delighted to announce that Harman Heer (Carramar Year 11) has taken out the top prize – the Golden Mesh Award – at the 2018 Mesh at Murdoch Awards for his stunning photography! As Harman is currently overseas, he pre-recorded his acceptance speech while Mrs Lesley Nation proudly accepted the award on his behalf.

Celebrating Carramar Secondary

Last night we reflected on a wonderful year for our Carramar Secondary students at their Presentation Evening. While celebrating student achievements across many learning areas, we farewelled our Class of 2018 together as they embark on their next chapter.

Exceptional Chef

Last Thursday’s Hospitality Group Training WA Awards Evening saw success for Carramar student Naomi Velterop, who took out the award for the Most Outstanding School Based Apprentice of the Year! Naomi’s employer praised her work ethic, saying she has a natural ability in the kitchen and potential to go far in the industry. Congratulations!

Splash of Colour

The Collinson Library deck is looking even brighter than usual thanks to our creative Certificate II Visual Arts students! This collaborative project saw students measure, design and paint these scenic artworks over the course of this year.

National Stage

Our teams continue to excel at each FIRST LEGO League competition – this time our two Carramar Teams have progressed to the Nationals! The Raging Comets, Galaxy Goats and Robotic Operating Buddies all performed well at yesterday’s State Finals. The Raging Comets and Galaxy Goats will now be heading to Macquarie University in New South Wales for December’s National Competition!
