Indonesian Service Tour 2019

Calling all current Year 9 and 10 students who are eager to broaden their service learning experience! We are currently accepting expressions of interest for the 2019 Indonesian Tour, held from 8 to 16 July. Working with the Bali Life Foundation, our students will engage in volunteer work at the orphanage and the Bali Life support services within central and southwest Bali. With expressions of interest closing next week, students are encouraged to visit Student Services to pick up an application form, or see Mr Drake, Ms Tinney, Ms Ryan or Ms Lund.

Badminton Success

More success for St Stephen’s Carramar today in the sport of badminton. Shailin Mandalia, Angus Hutchison, Ashwin Soney and Tom Bussche making the quarter finals and Ansu Soney and Jeevna Heer finishing as runner up in the year 7-10 Live Lighter badminton competition. Well done, a top effort!

Achieving at ACC

Months of students’ training and dedication was evident at the WA Athletics Stadium yesterday, as our Carramar athletes gave it their all at the ACC Athletics Carnival. Not only did our Senior Boys bring home a shield, Ky Landers (Year 12) placed third in Senior Boys, Simba Munjodzi (Year 7) achieved Runner Up Champion Boy in the Under 13s, Jayde Gault (Year 8) won Champion Boy in the Under 14s and Kayla van den Heever (Year 8) placed third in the Under 14s. Well done Team Carramar!

Familiar Faces

We’ve seen some familiar faces around the Carramar campus lately, with some St Stephen’s Alumni returning to share their Drama expertise! Cameron Taylor (Duncraig Class of 2011) has spent time hosting workshops with our Years 7, 11 and 12 Drama students focussing on improvisation, clowning and performance skills. WAAPA graduate Daniel Dosek (Carramar Class of 2013) has also been working with the ATAR Drama students individually to refine their skills and guide them in their preparation for their Mock exams. Thanks for visiting!

Year 12 Students Triumph

For the first time ever, the Carramar Class of 2018 have triumphed over the staff in the annual Leaver’s Shield competition! Each year, Carramar Year 12 students face their teachers in lunchtime sports matches including volleyball, badminton, basketball and netball. This year, the Year 12s were victorious and surely made some lasting memories!

Dress to Impress

There were colours and costumes galore at the Esplanade foreshore last Friday night, as the Year 11 students donned their best dress-ups for their annual River Cruise! The ‘Famous Faces’ theme saw students dress as their favourite characters and celebrities. It’s also worth noting that staff were just as eager to embrace the opportunity to dress up……… take a look at some of the creative outfits!

St Stephen’s School are the key partner for this event and will be putting on a range of activities including virtual reality safaris, African-style drumming, make-your-own binoculars and a real safari van for people to explore.
