For the second year in a row, young photographer, Harman Heer (Carramar Year 11) has been nominated as a category finalist in the Mesh at Murdoch Awards! Harman will now compete for the ultimate Golden Mesh Award, announced on December 5. Check out his stunning photos.

  

  

 

Creative Guru

Congratulations to Alumni Jarrad Levy (Class of 2016), who has been selected as one of six emerging artists in the inaugural Propel Youth Arts and Art Gallery of WA mentorship program.
Jarrad was the overall winner for Northern Perspectives in 2016 and has gone into studying Photography and Graphic Design/Creative Advertising at Curtin University,  while pursuing his personal photography work. The Mentorship program will culminate in an exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from April 13-22 – mark your calendars!

Stunning Snaps

Congratulations to Year 11 Carramar student Harman Heer, who took out the top photography prize at Murdoch School of Arts‘ 2017 Mesh at Murdoch Awards on Wednesday 6 December. Harman topped the Best Photographic Series category with these stunning shots, beautifully showcasing African wildlife in their natural habitat.

  

  

Photo Finish

Carramar Year 10 student, Harman Heer has been named as the winner of Best Photographic Series in the Mesh at Murdoch Awards for 2017. Harman entered an inspiring series of wildlife images taken on a trip to Africa – his ultimate goal to become a National Geographic photographer. Head of The Arts at Carramar Mrs Lesley Nation said Harman was the first person she thought of when the competition application came across her desk. “I knew he had an impressive body of work and he is such an exceptional talent and a lovely, humble young man – what an exciting win for him and for the School.” Best of luck to Harman for the overall Gold Mesh Award announcement in December.
