A Time to Reflect

Carramar Year 2 students recently had an opportunity to hear Bible stories told by the big kids. Year 9 students read their storybook Bibles to the Year 2 students as part of their Biblical Studies curriculum – they each creatively condensed the Bible into just 15 pages for the younger students. Teachers say amazing Bibles were created by the Year 9 students, from digital storybooks to interactive books.

Genesis 1:1: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Duke of Edinburgh Inaugural Camp

Last week 30 students from Yr 9 ventured down to Dwellingup to participate in the inaugural Duke of Edinburgh camp.  Students got the opportunity to put in to practice the skills they had been learning in Outdoor Education classes this semester.  They got to cook their own meals using small fuel stokes, setting up tents and camping over night on the School’s Nanga property in between spending two days hiking on the Bibbulmun Track.  Whilst we all got  little wet through the night the weather during the day was perfect to enjoy the beauty of the Dwellingup jarrah forest.

Year 9 Junior Boys AFL

With the last round of the qualifying stages being played this Thursday the Junior Boys Football team have had some mixed results.  We started off our first round game with a great come from behind win against Joseph Banks only to lose the next four games at home.  Facing Wanneroo Secondary College’s second side, the team was looking for a stronger performance after a poor showing against Irene McCormack the week before.  The first minute set the tone of the game with a strong forward entry and a couple of near misses before finally scoring a goal.  The remainder of the game was a one way street with the final score of 10.14 – 74 to 0 a reflection of our dominance across the ground.

This week sees our last game on Thursday against Butler away.  Many thanks to all of the parents who have come down and supported the boys through out the competition.
