Students Rule the Pool

Congratulations to Carramar’s Kyle Maher (Year 10) and Parsa Sonboli (Year 11) who won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Annual State Lifeguard Titles over the weekend! Kyle and Parsa demonstrated a high level of skill, agility and fitness as they showcased their pool lifesaving skills.

Taking Centre Stage

Six St Stephen’s School students have been recognised as some of Western Australia’s finest young drama students by the prestigious Black Swan State Theatre Company. Carramar’s Mia Kanzaki (Year 12), Clara Searle, Jade Johannes, Jenna Lane, Joel Glick (Year 11) and Adam Snyman (Duncraig Year 10) were selected as six of only 30 students from around WA to take part in the Company’s intensive two-day Work Experience Program. Scenic Surroundings

Making themselves at home at both Lake Leschenaultia and our Nanga campsite, Carramar’s Year 9 and 10 students recently switched off from their busy schedules and enjoyed time immersed in nature on their Outdoor Ed Camps. A special mention must go to the brave Year 10 abseilers!

Volleyball Victories

St Stephen’s Carramar took to the courts in the SSWA Volleyball Championships yesterday and returned with some impressive Championship shields! The A Division Boys team, A Division Girls team and B Division Girls team all took out the top spot in their division. Well done to all students involved!

Rock n’ Roll Canteen

There is no doubt the anticipation for our School musical Grease is building, but it’s not just the students who are excited! The Carramar Canteen was transformed into a classic Malt Shop yesterday, with the wonderful canteen staff Heather, Krys and Rachel dressing up and offering a special American-style milkshake meal deal. Stay tuned for more meal deals, ticketing info and behind the scenes preparation!

Service Success

A group of students from Duncraig and Carramar and staff members Ms Tinney, Mr Meagher and Mrs Lund travelled to Bukit, Indonesia for the St Stephen’s Global’s first Indonesia Service Tour, partnering with Bali Life Foundation.

They worked closely with the Foundation to provide fun, play-based English language activities for underprivileged children.

The trip included visits to the Suwung Community Centre at the foot of a rubbish tip in southern Denpasar, the Street Centre in Denpasar, the Children’s Home in Jimbaran, working in the Bali Life Community Garden, buying and distributing hygiene packs to families in need, and many other relational service activities.

“Our students raised nearly $10,000 collectively for Bali Life Foundation and they were outstanding ambassadors of Christ’s love to the people they served there,” Ms Tinney said.
