Year 8 Camp

February 20, 2017

Last week Year 8 students from the Duncraig campus went to Rottnest Island.

Among the many activities available to the students was Archery.

Head of Secondary, Mr Bruce Titlestad is an accomplished archer/bowman and was on hand to offer his invaluable advice to the students.

Enthusiastic teacher, Matt Smith, lead by example and took his place on a side to make up numbers.

Although archery probably dates to the Stone Age (around 20,000 BC), the earliest people known to have used bows and arrows were the ancient Egyptians, who adopted archery at least 5,000 years ago for purposes of hunting.

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”Kahlil Gibran
