Educating the whole person

April 22, 2017

Welcome back for Semester Two! It is wonderful to see everyone returning refreshed after the Easter break.

At St Stephen’s School, we educate the whole person – this encompasses elements of our spiritual, academic, pastoral, emotional and physical being.

I encourage every student at SSS to be their best for themselves and each other. Our relationships between school, family and student is of great importance. The family has a vital role in student development, and we enable this through communication between home and school, with open communication lines, and through keeping parents and carers informed. We welcome the participation of families as we all work together to develop well-rounded students.

One element of educating the whole person is the academic, and there are a number of opportunities coming up this term to support and engage families in the academic life and progress of our students. Parents and carers are invited to take part in our Subject Information Evenings, Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews, Coffee and Conversation mornings, and subject counselling. Information on these has been emailed and is available in SEQTA on the Bulletin and Documents pages. Please access SEQTA on a regular basis to obtain ongoing reporting about the progress of your child. The marks and comments found here form part of our continuous reporting cycle.

I look forward to the opportunities that will arise throughout this term for us to meet up for a chat.
