UWA Visit

August 30, 2019

Today a group of Year 10 Students from St Stephen’s  were fortunate enough to spend the day chatting with top researchers from UWA about their careers and opportunities in the Sciences. Hearing so many stories from young science researchers creating new knowledge and understanding for the human race is an inspiration to us all.

The students were amazed at the incredible variety of science fields that are available and that these are open to students that have a passion to make a difference in the world and that the years ahead are in fact a very exciting and interesting time. And our young people will be at the forefront of this.

STARS OF THE SILVER SCREEN

August 29, 2019

Year 11s dressed to the nines as stars of the Silver Screen for their River Cruise recently. The night was a great success filled with dancing, laughter and making memories. Deciding the winners of the costume competition proved difficult with some very imaginative gets-ups including Winnie the Pooh, Top Gun, 101 Dalmatians, Prank Patrol and The Jokers. It was a tie for first place with Adam Fletcher (Halo) and Rylan Cunnane (Elton John) taking out the $100 gift voucher.

TS1 Homeroom Service Learning

August 28, 2019

As part of St Stephen’s School Service Learning initiative, TS 1 hit the beach at Pinnaroo Point to pick up rubbish as a whole Homeroom to help make a difference to the local environment.  Homeroom teachers Stefani Ntoumenopoulos and Andre Bourgault organised the clean up with assistance from Keep Australia Beautiful and their Adopt-a-Spot Program. It is wonderful to see young people, who really care about their environment, selflessly giving of their time to make a difference along our beautiful coastline.

LEGO LEAGUE INFORMATION

August 23, 2019

Join our mission into the 31th season of FIRST®! Are you ready to build a better tomorrow together?

Architects design and construct buildings. They combine science and art to make buildings and structures for their clients. Sometimes they make new buildings and sometimes they redesign old ones.

They work as part of a larger team, just like yours. Structural, civil and environmental engineers make sure a project suits its site. Construction workers like electricians, plumbers and carpenters, and project managers make sure the job stays on time and within budget. Every role is important to get the job done.

What if you could build a better world? Where would you begin?

Our cities and towns face big issues, like transportation, accessibility and even natural disasters. How can we shape a better future for everyone? It will take teamwork and imagination.

You will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under Core Values celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.

Are you ready for the Challenge?

Calling all Students who are interested in solving real world problems as part of a team and competing with other schools in November.
