TRÈS CHIC

July 29, 2020

As part of their studies on clothing and fashion, Year 9 French students set up a très chic (very stylish) fashion show late last term, modelling their favourite outfits and describing them in French. The crowd, made up of Year 6 students, found the show very informative and entertaining!

With next week being Languages Week, our canteens are offering an array of international foods. See how to order your child’s meals below:
Duncraig: ELC (Kindy to Year 2) – Tuesday, 4 August
Year 3 to Year 12 – Thursday, 6 August
All orders must be pre-ordered at Quickcliq (www.quickcliq.com.au) – cut off for ordering is Thursday, 30 July at 1pm.

Adieu to Madame Racape

March 20, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that Madame Johana Racape, our wonderful French teacher, will be taking some time off this year to spend time with her family. She will be leaving us today and will return to St Stephen’s in 2021. In conjunction with that, we are very pleased to inform you that Madame Julie Penin will be taking over this teaching load for the rest of 2020. Madame Penin is already well known to our Primary students, as she has regularly joined us as relief teacher.

We truly wish Madame Racape all the best and look forward to her return next year.

Kind regards,

Hannah Lockwood-Jones and Jarrod Heglund

Duncraig Extends A Very Warm Welcome to French Exchange Students

February 16, 2017

Bonjour!

Duncraig is hosting 15 French Exchange Students and Staff.

Our students visited France last year and now it is our turn to extend the hand of friendship and hospitality.

Madame Rainer welcomed the French students and staff with an informal breakfast and orientation.

They presented the campus with the Flag of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Ázur.

They also donated two beautiful books. These are available for loan from the Secondary Library.

The French Tour 2016, students spent the first two weeks in Draguinan in the south of France with host families and, then, a final week in Paris. Everyone got a chance to develop their French Language skills during their homestays. As part of our tour, the group visited Lorgues market, Abby du Thornet, Monaco, Eze, St Tropez and Sainte Maxim for day tours. Experiencing the finest provincial weather and culture. In Paris the group was able to experience all of the major sites to taste the history and culture of the capital and its surrounds! It was a great experience for all involved from both Duncraig and Carrmar.
