InterCRU

April 2, 2019

On Friday 29th March, students from a number of schools congregated at St Stephen’s Duncraig for InterCRU, a chance to hang out and encourage each other in living as Christians at school. After a couple of games and chatting over afternoon tea, the students shared their experiences of being in a lunchtime group, and heard a talk about making the most of opportunities to strengthen your faith at school. They were urged to be oaks with deep roots, not saplings, so that they can withstand the pressures that come with being a Christian in the school environment.  IMPACTCRU, the voluntary lunchtime groups at St Stephen’s, are supported by CRUWest, who run camps, interschool events and support Christian groups in independent school

WA Marine Debris Project

October 26, 2018

Students from C2 Homeroom this week took part in the Tangaroa Blue Foundation’s WA Marine Debris Project. Students cleaned up a 600m stretch of beach adjacent to Whitfords Nodes, even finding a shovel! After collecting and sorting the waste, a list of collected items was uploaded to the AMDI database to assist with reducing waste at the source. Students learnt that marine debris isn’t only unsightly, it harms marine wildlife and can even impact human health if we consume fish that have ingested plastic.
