TRÈS CHIC

July 29, 2020

As part of their studies on clothing and fashion, Year 9 French students set up a très chic (very stylish) fashion show late last term, modelling their favourite outfits and describing them in French. The crowd, made up of Year 6 students, found the show very informative and entertaining!

With next week being Languages Week, our canteens are offering an array of international foods. See how to order your child’s meals below:
Duncraig: ELC (Kindy to Year 2) – Tuesday, 4 August
Year 3 to Year 12 – Thursday, 6 August
All orders must be pre-ordered at Quickcliq (www.quickcliq.com.au) – cut off for ordering is Thursday, 30 July at 1pm.

BIENVENUE!

January 15, 2019

As part of our languages program, Duncraig will welcome a group of French exchange students on campus this February, giving our students and their visitors the chance to practise their language skills first-hand.

Due to the popularity of the program, there are still a few French students needing accommodation with host families. If you might be interested in welcoming one of the exchange students into your home between February 10 and 23, please contact Head of English & Languages Mr Howie Jakeway at howie.jakeway@ststephens.wa.edu.au.

Combined Campus Languages PD

November 27, 2017

Our Duncraig campus hosted a languages PD on Monday which involved teachers from both our Duncraig and Carramar campuses. The PD was lead by Kate Reitzenstein, the languages consultant from AISWA, and focused on deepening student engagement with languages through a range of innovative teaching methods. The PD also involved teachers from the primary and secondary schools. I’m sure our students will benefit from this excellent PD opportunity.

Everyone got a chance to develop their French Language skills during their homestays. As part of our tour, the group visited Lorgues market, Abby du Thornet, Monaco, Eze, St Tropez and Sainte Maxim for day tours. Experiencing the finest provincial weather and culture. In Paris the group was able to experience all of the major sites to taste the history and culture of the capital and its surrounds! It was a great experience for all involved from both Duncraig and Carrmar.
