Making the library a lunchtime staple

February 14, 2018

One of the busiest times in the Secondary Library is lunchtime.

Once-upon-a-time, during lunch, the library was often only used by students wanting to explore literature and by others looking for a quiet space away from the playground, but what’s lovely is that today’s library is now being inundated by students for new reasons. There is a special ‘cafe’ area where students can sit and relax, enjoy their lunch, and perhaps purchase a caffeine and sugar free drink from the vending machine.

Students are working closely together and are forming meaningful social bonds in these spaces.

Al Fresco Fridays are back

May 7, 2017

Students and staff relax in the perfect weather on the quad while enjoying the warmth and precision of a musical ensemble.

Past Student Benjamin Jeyabalan and his band ‘Young Amity’ performed for our students during lunchtime. Ben met his band members during his leavers break to Ningaloo and they quickly formed a connection.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to listen to some relaxed and upbeat songs.

Many thanks to Ben and Young Amity for showcasing excellence in the Arts at St. Stephen’s School

What a magnificent end to the week!

Worlds Greatest Shave hits Duncraig

March 20, 2017

Lunch on the Quad was a bit different today.

Kaelan Lindup had his head shaved by fellow students.

Kaelan locks were so long that they had to be cut with a pair of scissors first.

Kaelan has raised $1,250 for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Donations are still being accepted.

This iconic event is one of Australia’s biggest fundraisers.

Year 8 students were first in line.

We are proud of you Kaelin!

Al Fresco Friday at Duncraig

February 17, 2017

During lunch time on Fridays, our students perform for the enjoyment of staff and students.

Today was a medley of musical genres including the classic Let It Be by The Beatles.

What a delightful way to eat lunch and relish the perfect weather.
