TOUR READY
March 20, 2019Before jetting off to South Africa for the Service Tour in a few weeks, Year 10 students from Carramar and Duncraig stopped by Bunnings Joondalup to sharpen their DIY skills! Students were trained in using power tools, painting, gluing and sealing, making concrete, laying bricks and rendering. These skills will help students when they take part in building projects at JJ Haven Orphanage.

Fund Raising at Grill’d Hillarys
February 5, 2019Alfie Jamieson has a fundraising jar at Grill’d (Hillarys) for the month of February.
He is fundraising for the South Africa Service Tour.
When you order a meal at Grill’d you will be given bottle caps, you can then place the bottle caps into one of three different fundraising jars.
Grill’d Local Matters began in 2011 as a way to give back to the communities. So far they have raised over $4,000,000 for more than 20,000 local community groups across Australia.
The objective is to fill the Alfie jar!
What a smashing idea!
Support South Africa Service Tour
January 25, 2019What could be more Australian than heading down to Bunnings for a sausage in a bun! The South Africa Service Tour group will be manning the BBQs at Joondalup Bunnings on Australia Day to raise funds for their upcoming tour so pop by, grab a bun and say Hi!
Maybe it’s time for a new pair of shoes? The Tour group are also holding a ‘Boot Drive’ – collecting pre-loved boots and sneakers to donate to the children of South Africa. If you’re ready to part with your old kicks, keep an eye out for collection details to come.
South African Service Tour Kicks Off
April 10, 2018After a long flight we have safely arrived in Cape Town, where we received a hearty welcome from District 6’s Guest House. All in all, between flights and our homecoming, we enjoyed three breakfasts. We are all a little heavier as a consequence.
Needing to get the blood pumping, some students pondered on a Table Mountain hike. The teachers however decided shopping at Waterfront will be a better cardio choice, followed by a cable car trip to the mountain top.
The views never cease to amaze, neither does the rotating floor of the cable car.
After a hearty meal at Spur, we headed back home, all in a Zombie haze. Donation packing and organisation lingered and was achieved in one epic group effort. We prevailed. We are all very tired, as so are headed off to bed at 8:00pm.

Bon Voyage
April 7, 2018Anticipation is high for some of our Year 10 students who are preparing to travel to South Africa in just one day! Students will work in schools and orphanages as part of the St Stephen’s Global South Africa Service Tour, recently taking part in a Bunnings training workshop to prepare. This amazing opportunity will see them immersed in South African culture while working to improve the lives of underprivileged children.

Fund Raising for the South Africa Tour
October 25, 2017Students in Primary were invited to a Sausage Sizzle at lunchtime.
The sizzle was a fund-raising event for the South Africa tour coordinated by Mr Osbourne.
Judging by the long queues it was a lip-licking success.
Well done to everyone involved!

Drum for a Cause Fund Raising Event
October 17, 2017The recent fund-raising event, Akwaaba, was a tremendous success with a fantastic attendance.
Parents and students enjoyed the drumming workshop and delicious barbeque.
Mr Clay Osbourne was the coordinator of this event and had this to say “Well done to everyone for being proactive and helping out at the Drumming night tonight. You really came together as a team tonight. Your initiative and willingness to get involved was amazing. Thank you! Thank you to all the parents and everyone who purchased tickets. Your contributions will go toward our service initiates and greatly benefit children in South Africa.”
Well done again on a fantastic effort!
