SENDING LOVE

August 3, 2020

Though our students weren’t able to travel on the South Africa Service Tour this year, it hasn’t stopped them from giving generously to our friends at Sinethemba Children’s Care Centre. With the money the students raised this year, the Centre was able to purchase new mattresses and three bunk beds, thanking our students and wider community for their kindness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

TOUR KICKS OFF

April 11, 2019

A group of Year 10 students and three staff members have eagerly begun their journey on the South Africa Global Service Tour and are already checking out the stunning sights of Cape Town. Thanks to the generosity of the St Stephen’s School community, the group took over 400kg of shoes to be donated to Capetown United Football Club, Sinethemba Homeless Shelter, JJ Haven and Mokone Primary School.

SUPPORT SOUTH AFRICA

November 20, 2018

Fundraising efforts are in full swing for the cohort of staff and students attending the 2019 St Stephen’s Global South Africa Tour. The group is looking forward to visiting orphanages and helping disadvantaged children next year. They have organised several fundraising activities and would love your support.

Who doesn’t love a Bunnings sausage sizzle – onions on top or bottom?

Head down to Bunnings Joondalup on Friday, December 7 and Whitfords on Saturday January 5 and 16 to grab a snag and support the South Africa 2019 Tour’s fundraising efforts.

You can also tick getting the car washed off the list of pre-Christmas jobs, with a school-based car wash at Duncraig on Monday, December 3 and at Carramar on Tuesday, December 4.

Bon Voyage

April 7, 2018

Anticipation is high for some of our Year 10 students who are preparing to travel to South Africa in just one day! Students will work in schools and orphanages as part of the St Stephen’s Global South Africa Service Tour, recently taking part in a Bunnings training workshop to prepare. This amazing opportunity will see them immersed in South African culture while working to improve the lives of underprivileged children.

Bunnings Training Day Success!

March 17, 2018

Well done to everyone for completing the Bunnings Day Training Session! Remember how to use the tools and skills you learned because they’ll come in handy when we are in South Africa.

  • Power drill (wood and masonry)
  • Torque wrench (screws, nuts and bolts)
  • Saws (jigsaw and hand saw)
  • Painting (rolling and brushing around trim)
  • Liquid Nails
  • Paving (measuring, levelling, cutting and laying)
  • Bricklaying (making ‘mud’ to keep bricks together and pavers from shifting)

A special ‘Thank you’ goes to Belinda and her team of professionals at the Joondalup Bunnings for hosting this very important training session. Not only did they provide you with the necessary skills and safety training you need while we’re on tour, but they also donated a lot of sports equipment for the children we will be visiting in South Africa.

Jehova Jireh Haven say a BIG Thank You!

February 14, 2018

Dear St Stephen’s community

Jehova Jireh Haven and the Kelly family wish to extend our utmost gratitude for the generosity of the St Stephen’s community. Your support allowed 89 orphans and 14 carers to enjoy a Christmas celebration that they will remember for a long time. They had a lovely Lamb Spit topped off with chocolate brownies. The children also enjoyed face painting, a bouncy castle, fairy floss and a camera booth.

Each child received a gift bag filled with a toy, new clothes, underwear, toiletries, stationary and, of course, lollies.

We are blessed to be part of this community.

Yours sincerely,

Dale Kelly

December 5, 2017

Students were washing staff cars this morning to raise funds for the South Africa trip.

They did an excellent job. The cars were sparkling in the sun.

Good job everyone!
