We witnessed the start of a new tradition thanks to some new cricket wickets! After Mr Herewini kindly provided the stick-on wickets, students and staff gathered to bowl the first ball and kick off a friendly match that looks to become a regular occurrence.

September 13, 2018Today is R U OK? Day.
As we always remain vigilant of how our students, staff and families are, today staff across both campuses came together to ask the question while raising funds for the ever-important message. Asking the question is a start but we are always more interested in finding out the answer.

Music Camp 2018
June 14, 2018Year 12 Students Depart for Retreat/Camp
June 7, 2018The Year 12’s left for their retreat yesterday.
Year 12 retreats are often reported as being one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of a student’s school life. The activities are designed to help prepare these 17 and 18 year-old students to confidently take the final steps to move from childhood to adulthood and being a responsible, well-adjusted member of society.
Year 12 retreats are particularly special because they are often one of the last times students will relax and renew together as a year group. They are facing the prospect of life beyond school, beyond teachers and beyond the school support network that has nurtured them for up to 13 years. These retreats can be very emotional and often give students the opportunity to openly share their feelings, hopes, memories and uncertainties.
“WHAT IS A SCHOOL RETREAT?
A retreat is . . .
- A pause from the “business” of everyday life
- An opportunity to strengthen friendships
- A time for quiet prayer and reflection in a peaceful atmosphere
- An opportunity to build and strengthen friendships and promote understanding between students and teachers
- A fun ‘time-out’ for recreation, games, songs, learning and play
We hope they have a wonderful time and an experience to remember!
Calling Our Community
June 5, 2018If you haven’t already had the pleasure – meet Betty (pictured below with our lovely D&T Teacher Mr Matt Kirby). Betty is part of the School’s Service Learning project which will see the beloved old caravan given a makeover and transformed into a mobile food service to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Students have spent time fixing the ol’ gal up, along with help from our community and volunteers. Betty is at the stage where she will soon be fitted with a whole new set of cabinetry courtesy of Kitchen Craftsman. Yet before the Kitchen Craftsman team come in, we have to do some behind-the-scenes work and we need your help!
We’re putting the call out to our community to see if anyone might be interested in helping out with donating any of the below items to get Betty one step closer to hitting the road with the School’s Service Learning programs.
If you are able to help out with donations of any of the below items or even time to work on Betty with us, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Service Learning Coordinator Donna Lund (aka Betty’s best friend) on donna.lund@ststephens.wa.edu.au.
