So much to say but here are a few words from our AWESOME students!

JJ Haven has been a place that we can interact with unprivileged kids and help them have happy smiles on their faces. It has changed the way we look at kids who are less fortunate and as a community have helped them to fill their lives with joy. MUNISH The day we were all waiting for was on Sunday – the grand opening of ‘Stephen’s Playground’. All our hard work paid off when the kids raced to the jungle gym and burst with happiness. Seeing the smiles on their faces made all the hard work worthwhile. KIRSTEN We could see how these kids are happy even though they don’t often get the things they need, even getting hold of a clean shirt was a struggle for these children. It shocked us how they were so unprivileged, barely having anything yet had so much love to give. Many people out there in the world have everything they could ask for and not give any love out.  We’re all feeling the same feeling at the moment, it is impossible to describe, we have never felt these feelings until now. There’s no other way you could feel this way unless you have done what we’ve done. JAKE For all of us JJ has changed us in ways we can’t imagine and this experience will forever lay in our hearts. SHANNYN Over our time in JJ we have learnt many life skills such as resilience (working through the lack of tools), patience (battling against the language barrier), initiative (sometimes taking a lead without being asked) and of course we learnt how to open our hearts to 140 kids in need. For many of us Jehovah Jirah Haven will hold a special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives and will inspire all of us to help spread awareness about the poverty suffered by many people in South Africa whose privileges were stripped at a young age. We have been thrilled to be a part of these kids’ lives as they will be in ours forever. We will miss JJ. FION, DARCY, ANAHERA
