Let the Fundraising Begin!

Tour Students,

This holiday break is a great time to start your fundraising, or at least start to organise your fundraising. I spoke with our contact at Bunnings in Joondalup and they are already booked out for sausages sizzles until next January! Having said that, you might want to try another Bunnings or your local footy clubs, etc.

Some tips from experienced fundraisers:

  1. Get into the spirit of fundraising. Remember why you are doing this. If you need motivation, just remember that every $ you make goes to positively influencing the lives of children in South Africa.
  2. Don’t wait to get started. Get started early because it allows you more flexibility in organising a time that works for you and gives you more time to reach (and hopefully exceed) your $700 target.
  3. Remember to think big and aim high. You are better off putting your energy into larger fundraising events where you can earn more money and reach your target quickly (i.e.- sausage sizzles). While bake sales, cake stalls, and raffles are certainly helpful and slightly easier to organise, it will take you a lot longer (and many attempts) to reach your target.
  4. When fundraising, always engage with your customers. Smile and talk to them. Share why you are fundraising and why you are happy to be a part of such an awesome journey.
  5. Feel free to click on the link below and use the reformatted letter to initiate contact for any companies that you do your fundraising through. It may need some slight editing based on your particular type of fundraiser, but feel free to do so.
  6. All your fundraising deposits should be made here on the blog, through the fundraising link in the column to the right. –>
