Happy New Year to everyone – I hope you have had a wonderful start to 2025.
With only a few days to go I have made a list of things to consider before we meet on Monday so please have a read through and contact me if you have any questions.
- Please ensure you’re at the airport by 9pm on Monday 6th January
- We will be having a group photo at the airport before we go through customs
- Please ensure you have packed your passport, and you have a copy of your visa printed out.
- Please ensure you have uploaded your digital lesson plans and resources to SharePoint via the link in a previous post (thank you to those who have already done this) – there are still some empty folders (Body Parts lesson and Food lesson)
- Pack your lesson materials
- Exchange some Australian dollars for Vietnamese Dong
- Pack glasses for the people in the villages
- Please ensure you have some space left for ukulele and other materials such as large story books, pencils, textas, glue sticks etc. we’re donating. We will hand these out to each of you at the airport prior to checking in.
- The following list outlines which students will be teaching English on Day 1 and 2 (we will decide day 3 when we’re there)
Day 1 (Numbers & Greetings group will pair up for the day; Animals and Food group will pair up for the day)
- Numbers group (Belinda, Tahlia)
- Greetings group (Elissa, Josh, Liam)
- Animals group (Saanvi, Alyssa)
- Food group (Abbey, Kate, Ainsley)
Day 2 (Colours & Shapes group will pair up for the day; Body Parts and Emotions group will pair up for the day)
- Colours group (Paige, Akayla, Heidi)
- Shapes group (Eva, Charlii, Saanvi)
- Body Parts group (Luke, Meg, Lilly)
- Emotions group (Kyra, Samara)
- The weather is looking a bit hit and miss in Hue during our stay with some rain forecast (varies depending on the website you look at). I would therefore suggest bringing a jumper, some long trousers, a rain jacket as well as a small umbrella to put in your day bag for walking around – just in case.
- If you have food requirements it might be worth printing off a card online that states this in Vietnamese that can be shown at restaurants.
- Print off an updated copy below of the booklet outlining times and activities or download it to your phone:
2025 Vietnam Lead-in Booklet Itinerary
- If you haven’t already done so, please complete the pre-tour survey via the link on the blog on November 14th
- Please find a link below to the ideas you came up with for the murals to be drawn on the walls:

Thank you all and see you Monday evening for what I am sure will be a wonderful trip!
Kind regards,
Mr Merrifield
