Reminder about tonight :)

Good morning all,

This is just another reminder to those helping out tonight with catering for the Senior Music Convert at the Duncraig campus. According to our spreadsheet, the students involved are:

Charlii Price, Abbey Shackleton, Saanvi Shah, Saanvi Savla, Eva Bowman, Kate Elderfield, Belinda Ding

If any of you can’t make it then please let me know. Please be at Duncraig (administration building at the turning circle) at approximately 6pm so that we can set up. There will be an intermission, with the event finishing sometime around 9-9.30pm.

As this will be the biggest music concert of the year, if everyone can please help out and provide something to sell that would be great. Carramar students, if you can please pass any food for sale to one of the Carramar students listed above and Duncraig students if you can please bring something in on the day and take it to Mrs Freeman upstairs in the Staffroom above Student Services. Alternatively, you can bring it to me in the Alethea staffroom.

Thanks everyone and see some of you tonight

Kind regards

With only a couple more sizes to collect from students for the Vietnam Tour shirts, we are hoping to be able to provide you with a choice of either a long or short sleeve shirt. Can you please click on the link below to enter your choice. I know some of you have told me your choice and this should be filled in on the spreadsheet already. The link will only be accessible by those on the tour, however, if there is any problems accessing it then please let me know.

Vietnam Meeting Reminder

Morning All,

This is just a quick reminder about the Vietnam catch up tomorrow afternoon at the Duncraig campus. Thank you for the emails from those who can’t make it. For those who are making their own way there, then please meet myself and Mrs Freeman in the Alethea Forum just before 4pm. For those going on the mini-bus from Carramar, please meet Mrs Harris in the Charis Forum straight after school.

If you are wanting to have some pizza (or you may choose to bring some of your own food) then please remember to bring some cash so we can pay for the pizza at the store. We will be ordering from Dominos so if you can have a look at what you would like in advance then this would help (feel free to pair up and go halves in a pizza too) – don’t forget to bring a drink.

Looking forward to seeing you all and hearing about how your fundraising is going.

Vietnam 2nd Meeting – Friday Aug 9th

Hello Vietnam Students,

We hope the start of term 3 is going well for you all and you have all made a start on your fundraising…only 160 days until departure!

We are looking at catching up as a group next Friday 9th of August at the Duncraig campus from 4-6pm (as per the Timeline handed out at our first meeting). The school Service learning buses have been booked and so students from Carramar can be taken to the Duncraig campus and dropped back at Carramar afterwards. If you do not need transport to and from Duncraig then please let me know via email.

During the meeting we will carry out the following activities:

  • Mrs Shanks is going to give us a talk about the Vietnam War.
  • We will discuss fundraising, what murals we can draw on the walls as well as getting to know each other a bit better.
  • We will order some pizza from Dominos so please bring some cash for this – I would think $10 each should be enough.

So far, I have only received copies of 13 passports so could those who haven’t emailed me a copy please get onto this ASAP. This is because we would like to apply for our visa for Vietnam as a group and you will need a valid passport (a scanned copy of your information page from your passport) along with a scanned passport photo in order to complete the application.

If you are not able to make the meeting then please email me to let me know.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Kind regards,

Mr Merrifield

Old reading glasses

Hello Students and Families,

I hope you’re all well.

Whilst on our recent reconnaissance trip to Vietnam, the charity organisation, Hearts for Hue, who has helped us make contact with the kindergarten we’re working with, mentioned to us they collect and recycle old reading glasses and give them to people in the communities who need them. It is a fantastic initiative they are running and if you have any old reading glasses you can donate that we could take over with us that would be greatly appreciated. A box will be left in Student Services for these to be dropped off.

If you require any further information then please let me know.

Kind regards,

Adam Merrifield
