Our Leader of Primary Libraries wins a coveted award

Mrs Jo-Anne Urquhart was presented with the Teacher Librarian of the Year, 2017 award, at Joseph Banks Secondary College on Saturday 25th March. Mrs Urquhart is the Leader of Primary Libraries at St Stephen’s School. This award recognises and honours an exceptional Teacher Librarian in a school setting whose professional practice has a positive impact on student achievement and information literacy.  

The award was presented by the Western Australian School Library Association [WASLA], one of the main organisations supporting the work of staff in WA school libraries.  Mrs Urquhart has been instrumental in developing and extending the reading abilities of many students at both Primary campuses and she works tirelessly to promote all forms of literacy.  The award lasts for twelve months.  As the recipient of this award she receives a framed certificate, a distinctive trophy and a cheque for $250.00.
