Mark Greenwood kept students absolutely enthralled with his tales of tracking down Australian history mysteries when he worked with years 3-6 at both primary campuses as well as year 7 at Carramar.

Children entered a competition to win the opportunity to have morning tea with Mark Greenwood. The winners were given time in a small group to discuss with Mark their favourite books and ask him questions about his writing. All Mark Greenwood books in the library were borrowed within 15mins of his presentation.

His fascinating retelling of dodging tiger sharks to discover canon on the seabed near the islands of ghosts, exploring ANZAC fighting fields where he came face-to-face with a notable donkey and tracking down the clues to Lasseter’s lost gold reef revealed riveting detail about the research behind history writing.

Students were on the edge of their seats in anticipation of secrets to be divulged and are fired up about reading of the mysteries of lost gold, diamonds and bushrangers’ secrets. The intricacies and magic of bringing the tales to life have students inspired to read and discover just in time for the holidays.
