Term 3 – Notices – Week 6

The week ahead:

ELC

Friday 30 August, 2pm – Father’s & Special Guest Day

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all doing well as we head into Week 6! It’s been a busy and exciting term so far, and we’re looking forward to another wonderful week ahead. Today our Year 5MC students were eager to showcase their talents and hard work. These assemblies are a great opportunity for students to build confidence and share their learning with the school community. At the ELC on Friday, we’re excited to welcome our fathers and special guests for an afternoon of fun and celebration. The children have been busy preparing, and we know it’s going to be a memorable day for everyone involved.

Next week sees the Year 3-6 students compete in the Inter House Athletics Carnival. These are always great community days and we look forward to seeing you there.

Monday 2 September – Interhouse Athletics Carnival (jumps & throws)

Friday 6 September – Interhouse Athletics Carnival (sprints & team games)

Lost Property

During the winter months, we have accumulated many sports jackets and jumpers in our lost property collection. We have returned all named items to their owners. If your child is missing clothing, please visit the ELC or Primary Administration Office to see if we have any items that belong to you. Any unclaimed clothing items will be handed over to the uniform shop at the end of Term 3. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We’ve been focusing on building a strong sense of community across the school, and it’s been wonderful to see the children building on their relationships with each other too. From buddy programs to collaborative projects, the spirit of teamwork continues to grow.

As important as the relationships between the students, equally important are the relationships between school and home. We value our partnership with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. We’re here to work with you to support your child’s learning and well-being every step of the way.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We’re looking forward to another week of learning, growth, and connection.

Warm regards

Hannah Lockwood-Jones & Andrew Johnston

Parking Reminder at the ELC

It has come to our attention that some parents are parking their cars in the Kiss and Drive area during morning drop-off. We would like to remind everyone that parking in this area is not permitted between 7:30-9:00 AM and 2:45-3:45 PM.

Parking in this zone during restricted hours creates unsafe conditions, as it forces other parents and students to park further away and walk a greater distance to the gate. We ask for your cooperation in keeping this area clear during the specified times to ensure the safety of all our students.

Additionally, we kindly ask that parents refrain from parking in front of the bins near the Pre-Primary and Kindy playground. It is dangerous to reverse from this area into incoming traffic and causes delays in the flow of traffic. Please work with us to ensure the safety of all students and visitors to the ELC.

If family members or friends are assisting with the drop-off or pick-up of your children, please make them aware of these requests from the school.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and cooperation.

Warm regards

Andrew Johnston & Hannah Lockwood-Jones

School Photo Orders

Just a reminder that 2024 school photos are still available to purchase through Photo Hendriks by following the link www.photohendriks.com.au and entering your child’s individual access key.  We have handed out an additional DL slip with your child’s individual access key to those students that have not already placed an order. Please check with your child if they have not given this to you.  Any further questions regarding ordering, please contact Photo Hendriks on 9361 3206 or customerservice.hendriks@leadingimage.com.au

Protective Behaviours

As we continue to keep you updated with the Protective behaviours Program, we have provided you with the concept summaries for each phase of learning. The concept summaries provide parents and carers with an overview of the concepts that are covered in each focus area. Combined with the fact sheets from last week, this gives you all the information you need about the program and how you can support at home.

Warm regards

Andrew Johnston & Hannah Lockwood-Jones
