Term 2 – Notices- Week 1

Welcome back,

We hope you had a wonderful break and enjoyed some well-deserved time to relax and connect with your families.  Term 2 is packed with exciting events, activities, and learning opportunities. Please keep an eye on our school calendar to stay up to date with everything that’s happening.

ELC Mothers & Special Guests Day Celebration

Friday, 9th May

8:30 – 9:45am

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we are eagerly preparing to celebrate and honour the incredible mothers and important people in our students’ lives. At our school, we recognise that in a family there are many special people who play significant roles in our students’ lives. Whether it’s grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends, we want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of all these special individuals.

Co Curricular clubs

We are excited to begin the Primary Co-Curricular Activities this Term.  These activities are a wonderful opportunity for students to learn new things, develop positive social skills and enjoy being a part of the broader St Stephen’s School community.

Activities will commence in Week 3 and run for a six-week duration, finishing in Week 8.  Students from Pre Primary to Year 6 are welcome to participate in a co-curricular activity.  It is important that children understand they must commit to the activity for the whole six weeks.

Bookings will open on Monday, 5 May at 6:00 pm, and can be made through the following link https://bookwhen.com/ststephensschool_duncraig#focus=ev-s9mi-20250514131000

Places are limited for each activity, so please enrol in only one activity.  Allocation is on a ‘first in’ basis, so we encourage you to secure child’s place as soon as possible.

Lost Property

We currently have a number of items in the Lost Property Box, some of which are pictured below. If your child is missing clothing, a hat, water bottles, or even items from surfing lessons earlier in the year, please pop down to Primary Admin to check if anything belongs to them.  Items not claimed within a couple of weeks will be donated to charity or disposed of.

Heart for the Homeless

We’re proud to, once again, support the Sonshine FM Heart for the Homeless campaign.

As the temperatures drop, let’s remember the thousands of West Australians doing it tough without a safe place to sleep. Donations of new and clean sleeping bags, warm clothing, blankets, and hygiene items can be dropped off at the Administration Building between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday from 1st to 25th May.

Dear Families and Community,

As Term 1 draws to a close, we find ourselves preparing to celebrate Easter – a season of hope, renewal, and reflection. It’s a time to pause, reconnect, and take joy in the simple blessings around us.

This term has been filled with wonderful moments of learning, growth, and perseverance. Your children have embraced each challenge with enthusiasm and heart, and we are so proud of the progress they’ve made. Their curiosity, creativity, and kindness continue to enrich our school community.

As we head into the break, we hope this Easter brings you and your family rest, togetherness, and time to reflect on all that is good. May it be a season of light, love, and new beginnings.

We are truly grateful for your ongoing support and partnership. It’s a privilege to walk alongside you in your child’s learning journey, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in Term 2, recharged and ready for the term ahead.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and blessed Easter.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

Thanksgiving Service – Tuesday, 8th April
We warmly invite all families to join us for our Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, 8th April as we come together in gratitude for the term that has been. This is a special time to reflect, give thanks, and celebrate the efforts of our students, staff, and school community.

A Note for Our Year 2 Families
As our Year 2 students take on the honour of leading the ANZAC Assembly on the last day of term, we ask that they wear their normal school uniform for the occasion rather than free dress. Students are welcome to bring a top to change into after the assembly. Thank you for your support in ensuring this is a respectful and meaningful event.

Warm regards,

Hannah Lockwood-Jones & Andrew Johnston
