Class Placement 2026

As we prepare for next year, we would like to take the opportunity to inform you of the process we use when placing students in their classes for next year. Please note that all teachers place students after examination of several factors which include:

  • Social and emotional concerns
  • Friendship preferences
  • Academic ability
  • Staff observations

Your child’s current class teachers construct their class lists in collaboration with their partner year group teacher(s), Learning Assistants and Specialist Teachers. Where possible, the teaching staff will provide experiences for students to interact across the classes to also observe student interactions with students not currently in their class.

Once the teachers have completed their class list recommendations, they are forwarded on to the Primary Leadership Team to be reviewed.

The process of creating class lists is done carefully and over a period of time. Please be assured that every decision we make is in the best interests of your child and understand that, while we recognise the uniqueness and preferences of each student, we will not guarantee a preferred placement.

Please, can we encourage you to trust in the professionalism and dedication of our staff as they consider the many factors in placing your child in a particular class and not make requests for preferred class placements for your child.

You will be notified of your child’s teacher in January 2026 before they commence school.

Lost Property

During the winter months, we have accumulated many sports jackets and jumpers in our lost property collection. We have returned all named items to their owners. If your child is missing clothing, please visit the ELC or Primary Administration Office to see if we have any items that belong to you. Any unclaimed clothing items will be handed over to the uniform shop at the end of Term 3. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Warmest regards,

Andrew Johnston & Hannah Lockwood-Jones

Our Kindy King students are excited to share their learning journey with families and friends during their class assembly, while our Pre-Primary children are preparing for the much-anticipated Alphabet Dress Up Day, a creative way to celebrate letters and sounds.

In Years 3 – 6, the Interhouse Athletics Carnival is set to showcase both skill and team spirit, beginning with the field events of jumps and throws on Tuesday before moving into the fast-paced sprints and collaborative team games on Friday.  Next Monday, our Year 5 students are looking forward to the adventure and learning opportunities of camp, where they will strengthen friendships and grow in independence. It promises to be a week full of connection, celebration, and memorable moments for students across our school.

We thank our families for the ongoing encouragement, support, and enthusiasm you bring to each of these events, helping to make them such meaningful and memorable experiences for our children.

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all doing well as we head into Week 6! It’s been a busy and exciting term so far, and we’re looking forward to another wonderful week ahead.

Today, our Year 2 students had the pleasure of attending an Instrumental Incursion, hosted by talented musicians from the High School. The session showcased the beautiful string instruments that will be available for Year 3 students next year.

At the ELC on Friday, we’re excited to welcome our fathers and special guests for an afternoon of fun and celebration. The children have been busy preparing, and we know it’s going to be a memorable day for everyone involved.

Next week sees the Year 3-6 students compete in the Inter House Athletics Carnival. These are always great community days and we look forward to seeing you there.

Warmest regards,

Andrew Johnston & Hannah Lockwood-Jones
