One More for Dinner
Our School Community, Serving Our Local Community
This term, we invite our ELC families to take part in a simple but powerful act of kindness. When you prepare a meal for your family in Week 3 of this term, consider making a little extra “One More for Dinner” to support someone in our local community.
How it works:
· From tomorrow (Tuesday 21 October – Friday 24 October) you can collect a container from the ELC reception, or from a box outside during after school pickup.
· During Week 3 (Monday 27 October – Thursday 30 October) cook an extra portion of your family meal.
· Place it in the microwave-safe container you collected from the ELC.
· Write out the ingredients clearly on the label on the container.
· Drop it off at ELC reception any day of Week 3. The last drop off for food is Friday 31 October, 8:30 am.
· Over the course of the week, meals will be collected and distributed to those in need.
Important:
· Meals must be easy to reheat in a microwave.
· Please ensure ingredients and the date you made the meal are listed on the label, this will help support dietary needs and preferences, .
· Once you have filled your container, please bring it to the ELC the next morning. This will ensure that it remains fresh for those receiving the meal.
Thank you for helping us show care and compassion to our wider community. Together, we can make a difference, one meal at a time.
ELC Athletics Carnival
Are you ready!? Our PP-2 students have been learning and practicing modified track and field skills and team games for our athletics carnival. Our students are excited to show you what they’ve been working on in PE classes and participate in some friendly interhouse competition.
The children will be involved in a sprint race, Jump and throw events and team activities.
Your child will need to wear their house-coloured polo shirt, school shorts and shoes and ensure their school hat is packed in their bag.
When: Friday 31st October, 8.50am – Approximately 12.00pm
Where: Yr 3-6 Primary Oval, Duncraig Campus (Doveridge Drive)
Due to the event being at the main Duncraig Campus, your child will need to be dropped off to their class teacher on the 3-6 Primary Oval that morning (prior to 8.45am)
Students will return to the ELC with their year groups by bus at the conclusion of the carnival, with PP departing first at 11.30am, followed by the Yr 1s and Yr 2s at approximately 12.00pm and 12.20pm.
More information regarding approximate event times and carnival logistics will be provided in your child’s class blogs, prior to carnival day.
If your child is attending OSH that morning, please email emma.trevaskis@ststepehens.com.au as soon as possible, so transport arrangements can be made.
If you know that your child will not be at school that day please let Mrs Trevaskis know ASAP, as this will affect the teams which I am currently composing.
Warm regards
