Start Time: 6.45pm.

Time students need to be seated: 6.30pm

Throughout the evening, staff acknowledge academic excellence, academic endeavour and exceptional citizenship among each year group. Students will also be performing choral items that they have been learning.  It is expected that all students attend from Years 3-6 and awardees from Years 1-2, however, should circumstances arise and this is not possible, please advise your child’s teacher and administration.

Reserved seating is allocated near the front of stage for our Year 1 and 2 awardees and their parents .  All year 3 and 4 students are to proceed directly to the choir risers. Years 5-6 students will have allocated seating to the left side of the stage.

We will start promptly at 6.45pm and should conclude by 8:00pm.

No printed tickets are required for this event, however, please make a booking to ensure adequate seating is provided – https://events.humanitix.com/dpp2025

We look forward to you joining us for this evening of celebration.

ELC and Primary Prayer Group

Each week, a group of parents and staff from both the ELC and Years 3–6 come together for a time of prayer and reflection, meeting at the ELC. This group provides a beautiful opportunity to pause, connect, and lift up our community in prayer. Everyone is warmly welcome to join,  whether regularly or whenever you are able to come. If you would like the group to pray for something specific, please don’t hesitate to let them know. You can also speak with or drop a note to the ladies at the front desk, who will gladly pass on your request in confidence.

Magpies at the ELC

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who took the time to contact the City of Joondalup regarding the recent magpie attacks. We are pleased to share that the principal magpie has now been safely removed by the council. Your support and prompt communication helped ensure the safety of our students and community . Thank you for partnering with us.

Wheelchairs for Kids

This afternoon, in 3-6 worship, we welcomed a representative from Wheelchairs for Kids, the charity we raised money for in our free dress day at the end of last term.

It was wonderful to be able to present them with a cheque for $750, not only from the money raised through free dress, but also from some extremely generous additional donations from some parents.

Thank you to all who supported this cause.

One More for Dinner

Message of thanks from the Spiers Centre

For some people, cooking is a passion; for others, it’s more of a chore. Whatever camp you fall into, everyone who rolled up their sleeves to cook meals for The Spiers Centre has made an extraordinary difference and for those whose batteries aren’t recharged by time in the kitchen, we send you an extra virtual hug of gratitude. I’d love to share a little about where those meals go, and the lives they touch.

The Spiers Centre has been serving people across Perth’s northern suburbs for just over 45 years. Today, our work includes financial counselling for people in financial stress, often on the brink of eviction, with around 40% of our clients also surviving family and domestic violence. We provide emergency relief in the form of food hampers, food vouchers, utility support, and advocacy – connecting people to the right help at the right time. The meals you prepare for us are a vital part of that emergency relief, and the best way to show their impact is through a real story from earlier today.

The Centre had barely opened its doors when a young man came in. He was humble, polite, and almost apologetic for “bothering us.” He told our staff how his entire life, from birth had been lived amongst the chaos of substance use and instability, but in the past two months he’d made a conscious decision to break away. He’s been sleeping rough for 56 nights, scraping together enough money for the occasional cheap hotel room when he could. Despite reaching out to several agencies, he’d been told housing could be years away. He was deflated, tired, and hungry, yet still hesitant to take help because he believed there were “others worse off or more deserving.”

When we offered him a food hamper, he asked quietly, “Do I have to pay for it?”  and the surprise and relief when he realised it was freely given said everything. Because of you, we could go one step further: we offered him one of the St Stephen’s meals. You could see the shift in him, that moment when someone is treated with dignity, not pity. When he’s seen as a fellow human being not a problem to be solved or passed on. We gave him choices, amongst which were: baked chicken meatball fettuccine or Mexican cheesy beef and rice? We could heat one up for now, and pack another to take away. Maybe some onigiri too. It can be eaten hot or cold, perfect for when there’s no way to cook.

He left with a brown paper bag full of food, a full stomach, and a sense that he mattered. He knew he could come back again, because people like you care enough to make sure no one leaves our doors hungry.

Your meals do more than feed people; they restore hope, dignity and humanity.

From all of us at The Spiers Centre, thank you, St Stephen’s families, for being the heart behind every meal.

Warm regards

Andrew Johnston & Hannah Lockwood-Jones
