Science Cafe at UWA
//Yesterday saw a group of Year 10 students attend UWA for the annual Science Café experience. Students were able to meet current academics, undergraduate students and students from other schools to have a unique opportunity to speak with professionals and students from a whole variety of science backgrounds and to gain practical knowledge about future careers in Science.
Students were able to hear from experts in fields that interested them and to also network with academics and other students and see first hand where studies in Science can lead St Stephen’s students, as St Stephen’s alumni were part of the organising group and it was a real treat to catch up and hear about their journey so far.

//The sound of staff and students as we watched Ben Popham (Duncraig ’18) win the men’s 100m freestyle S8 heat. We watched him make a splash in his old House, Carana. Cheer him on as he goes for gold this evening at 7.20 pm.

//Ben Popham (Duncraig ’18) and his teammate Rowan Crothers are ready to hit the Tokyo pool this week! Ben starts his Paralympic campaign tomorrow – cheer him on in the following heats (Perth time):
– 100m Freestyle S8 on Wednesday August 25, 10.35am
– 4x100m 34pt Men’s Freestyle Relay on Monday August 30, 10.09am
– 400m Freestyle S8 on Tuesday August 31, 8am
– 4x100m 34pt Men’s Medley Relay on Friday September 3, 10.19am

//We had 2 team as part of the year 11 atar PE studies program and our 2 CAS teams compete. No teams made finals but learnt lots over the day.

Carpark and Turning Circle Request
//Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you know the secondary dismissal bell goes at 3:20pm.
Our primary students are dismissed at 3:10pm and their families are struggling to get around the turning circle and out of the way in time for secondary dismissal.
This is due to secondary student parents arriving from 2:50pm and parking or waiting in the area.
It would be helpful if secondary student parents arrived a little closer to 3:20pm and keep along the shoulder to allow primary student parents to move through the circle.
When waiting for your child in the bottom carpark along Doveridge Drive, please park in allocated bays and avoid idling in a queue of traffic.
On average our community collect their children and are off the campus within 15 minutes, which is wonderful considering the number of cars involved. Thank you for your patience and consideration as we continue to successfully navigate our drop offs and pick-ups.

T5 Service Excursion

T5 had their service excursion to help ‘Friends of Yellagonga’ to rehabilitate bushland in Kingsley. We spent nearly 3 hrs weeding, planting and clearing rubbish to make a difference in our community. It made all the hard work worthwhile seeing what a difference we made to our community!
