POETIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Year 8 Victoria Hill has placed second in the City of Nedlands Roland Leach Poetry Awards lower secondary category. Victoria’s entry was one of 540 from across the state. Carramar Year 12 Riana Shah’s poetic creativity has also been recognised and will be published in the next edition of The Australian Mathematics Education Journal. Riana’s poem emulated a TS Eliot poem, using mathematical discourse to discuss existential ideas. Read their poems at https://loom.ly/pu3c0DY

YOUTH SCHOOL AWARDS

The City is once again offering local young people the opportunity to apply for the 2022 City of Joondalup Youth Awards. There are 6 Awards of $1000 each on offer to Year 10 students (or equivalent) to assist them in continuing their studies.

Applications and Eligibility Criteria are available online and the closing date is Sunday 28 November, 2021.

It would be appreciated if you could pass this information to your students and support them in their applications.

All School Athletics Championships

Congratulations to Tahlia Papworth Year 10 who won a silver medal in the U18 2000m Steeplechase at the weekend

Isabella Heathcote achieved 4th Place in the 1500m , just missing out on a podium finish by 0.4 seconds.

Both these girls competed in the school triathlon on Friday too!
