CLEANING UP

Year 9 Outdoor Ed students did their bit for the environment, heading to local beaches and parks to collect rubbish and learn about environmental awareness last term. More than 25kg of rubbish was collected!
Thank you to Keep Australia Beautiful WA for supplying equipment to collect rubbish and collecting the full bags at the end of the session.

Little Feet Festival 2021

This year’s theme is: Roll Up, Roll Up, It’s Circus Time.

There will be plenty for your little ones to see and do, with stage shows, roaming performers and circus workshops for all ages. They will also enjoy clowning around as they discover the clues to find their way through the Marvellous Maze.

Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Since the first Little Feet Festival in 1993, the event has been held annually providing young families with children an afternoon of free entertainment and activities to enjoy. Professional artists facilitate meaningful experiences for children and their families through creative art activities and performances.

Keep an eye on the City’s website (https://www.joondalup.wa.gov.au/little-feet-festival-7) and Facebook to find out further information.

Remembrance Day Poppies

Poppies will be available in the school reception areas and can be purchased for a gold coin donation in the lead up to Remembrance Day, November 11.

All Poppy Appeal donations go directly into assisting veterans, and their families, in need. The importance of these funds continues to be highly relevant as we support veterans of recent conflicts, such as Iraq, Afghanistan and East Timor, alongside the aging population from past conflicts.

Preparing today’s learners for uncertainty – a webinar for parents

‘Uncertainty tolerance’ (UT), or how we process and respond to unknown or complex situations, is increasingly recognised as an essential workplace skill. Uncertainties in the workplace are ever-present and we’ve seen shared, global experiences of this with the uncertainties surrounding work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday 9 November Associate Professor Michelle Lazarus will discuss the impacts of UT on students, and outline some strategies to help parents to support their children to improve their UT to prepare them for their futures in further education and work.
