Shipwreck Museum
Year 11 and 12 ATAR Marine and Maritime Studies students visited the WA Shipwreck Museum to learn more about ancient spice trading, Dutch explorers and the incredibly story of the Batavia. Standing next to artefacts form the wrecks that are almost 400 years old was quite memorable experience for them, highlighting the importance of the conservation techniques they have been learning in class.

Salvation Army Cook Up for the Homeless
Please join us to cook meals for the Salvation Army Doorways program Thursday 9th Sept at Duncraig campus. The meals will be provided to families and individuals that are living rough in our CBD. I have arranged fresh produce to be donated by Second Bite, and a small donation of $10 would be appreciated to purchase meat and pasta. We will be using Thermomixes to cook up a storm. If you own one, please bring it along for the event however if you do not own one we can team you up with someone who has. For further details please call Donna Lund 0429 153 912 or email donn.lund@ststephens.wa.edu.au Rsvp Monday 6th.

Science Cafe at UWA
Yesterday saw a group of Year 10 students attend UWA for the annual Science Café experience. Students were able to meet current academics, undergraduate students and students from other schools to have a unique opportunity to speak with professionals and students from a whole variety of science backgrounds and to gain practical knowledge about future careers in Science.
Students were able to hear from experts in fields that interested them and to also network with academics and other students and see first hand where studies in Science can lead St Stephen’s students, as St Stephen’s alumni were part of the organising group and it was a real treat to catch up and hear about their journey so far.
