NAIDOC WEEK – HEAL COUNTRY

St Stephen’s School Duncraig and Carramar students concluded NAIDOC week celebrations with a special assembly last week. Aboriginal Elder Maitland Hill performed a wonderful Welcome to Country and spoke to the theme of NAIDOC Week 2021, Heal Country.
Heal Country calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. It calls for all of us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites, and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.

ACC AFL TEAM ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to Emma Lilford Year 10 who was recently chosen to represent the ACC girls’ team in the inaugural All Stars AFL tri-series.

On the evening of Monday 16 August, the school will host a Subject Information Evening for Year 9 and Year 10 (2022) students and parents, commencing at 6.30pm in the Theatre. This is an opportunity to hear about future pathways, subject offerings, and to discuss queries with Heads of Learning Area. The Year 9 and 10 Curriculum Handbook is available in the Parent Portal under ‘Learning Resources’. This contains valuable information about subject prerequisites, course selections and pathway options. We encourage you to download and peruse this document ahead of the Information Evening.

We look forward to seeing you on the evening.

Year 10 Netball

This afternoon our Year 10 girls netball team played their CAS final against St Mark’s in tricky conditions on the outdoor courts. The girls and their coach Jen Prosser continued their unbeaten run with a 32-2 victory over their opponents, with the mercy rule instituted in the second quarter. The girls played out a fun and sportsmanlike game for the remainder. The team now progresses to the ACC Championship this term.

Year 10 Student/Parent/Teacher Interview Evening

The Student-Parent-Teacher interviews for Year 10 students will be held on Monday 2 August from 4:00-8:00pm. This is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress and Semester 1 Report with their teachers and we encourage students to be present to participate in the interview. In addition to the Report, information and comments about specific assessment results are available throughout the year via your SEQTA Engage login – in preparation for the interview, please ensure you have accessed your child’s SEQTA assessment records and reviewed these with your child.

The interviews will be held in the Glenda Parkin Learning Centre. Please note if for some reason a teacher is not available on the day their name will not be listed on the Bookings information, and you will receive an email from the teacher (or Head of Learning Area) to organise an alternative.  The bookings system will close on 30 July 2021.

To book your interview time please go to portal.ststephens.wa.edu.au

Then:

  • Plan the Term > Select Interview Booking
  • Login to EdInfo (Simply select login)
  • Select Interviews
  • Select Student from the drop down menu
  • Select available appointment time
  • Print Timetable

Your user name and password is the same as you use for SEQTA. If you have forgotten your username or password, please call the Parent Hotline on:  9243 2160

When booking interviews, you are welcome to book with as few or as many of your child’s teachers as you wish. A few teachers have so many classes they might be booked out for the entire evening. If this is the case and you wish to make an interview time, please email the teacher and let them know your available times for an in-person or telephone interview. Please speak to your child and check their timetable to ensure you book with the most relevant teacher for classes with more than one teacher.

We look forward to seeing you on the evening.
