EMPLOYER OF CHOICE
Double Success for Hayden Windsor
Hayden has just been selected for WA State U-16 Football Squad. Due to current COVD-19 border restrictions, there is unfortunately no National competition this year. However all selected players have been invited to attend a training camp from the 22nd July to 29th July where they will travel to Geraldton and Kalgoorlie across the 7 nights, playing some regional teams.
Hayden was also selected to be part of the WA Cricket u17s Development Squad for 2021/22 run by the WACA. It’s a squad of 20 who participate in a six month training and development program. The state team is selected from this group, to play in National U17s in January.

Information Evening and Curriculum Handbook for Year 11 (2022)
Our Year 10 students have begun the process of considering their future pathways. Commencing last term, they have discussed pathways in Education Plus, attended presentations by our Heads of Learning Area, and have been encouraged to chat about their options with Homeroom teachers. Next week, students will have the opportunity to attend the Careers Expo on 1 June where representatives from universities, TAFEs and various industries will be available to answer questions about courses, admission procedures, employment opportunities or apprenticeship pathways.
On the evening of Monday 21 June, the school will host a Subject Information Evening for Year 11 (2022) students and parents, commencing at 6.30pm in the Theatre. This is an opportunity to hear about future pathways, subject offerings, and to discuss queries with Heads of Learning Area. We encourage you to attend. If any changes are required due to government health advice, we will email parents and place information in the Secondary Newsletter.
To assist in planning this event, it would be appreciated if you could RSVP here: RSVP LINK
The Year 11 and 12 Curriculum Handbook is now available in the Parent Portal and SEQTA on the Documents page. This contains valuable information about subject prerequisites, course selections and pathway options.
The school is providing a number of supports to enable students and parents to make their best decisions about future pathways. Year 10 students and parents will receive their Semester One report and online subject preferences form, during the term break. The Student-Parent-Teacher Interviews for Year 10 students will be held on the evening of Monday 16 August, which is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress with their teachers and we encourage students to be present to participate in the interview. Information about bookings for this evening will be provided via email.
It is important that students in Year 10 attend a subject counselling interview during Term 3. You will be provided with an appointment during which we will discuss pathways and enter final subject preferences. In the event that a subject of interest is not recommended, students need to discuss this with the Head of Learning Area before attending their subject counselling interview. Once students have selected subjects and had them approved by the Head of Campus, it is expected they will study them for Year 11 and 12.
Finally, students have a wonderful opportunity to explore tertiary opportunities during LIFT Week in the final week of this term. Additionally, they will participate in Work Experience or Service Learning at the end of the year. It is expected that this opportunity will enable our Year 10’s to potentially engage with the career pathway of their choosing and to have a positive impact in our local community.
We look forward to seeing you at the Subject Information Evening.
