Preparing today’s learners for uncertainty – a webinar for parents

‘Uncertainty tolerance’ (UT), or how we process and respond to unknown or complex situations, is increasingly recognised as an essential workplace skill. Uncertainties in the workplace are ever-present and we’ve seen shared, global experiences of this with the uncertainties surrounding work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday 9 November Associate Professor Michelle Lazarus will discuss the impacts of UT on students, and outline some strategies to help parents to support their children to improve their UT to prepare them for their futures in further education and work. CLASS OF 2021

The Year 12s celebrated their journey and achievements at St Stephen’s School at Grad’s Day this week. The atmosphere was fantastic as students celebrated in a mixture of formal and fun-filled activities.
We wish you all the best in your upcoming exams and future endeavours.

PHILOSOTHON WIN – THE BEST OF THE BEST

St Stephen’s School has claimed the title of Overall WA Champion School at the annual Philosothon competition at UWA and now has its sights set on the 2022 Australian Philosothon! Our Duncraig team competed against 23 other schools from across Perth, in a competition designed to be a “true meeting of the minds”, testing critical and collaborative thinking skills in a range of philosophical topics. Added congratulations to Sophie Burrows, who was awarded the Year 11 top honour!

Uniting WA Christmas Appeal

A small act can sometimes be enough. A helping hand can halve a burden, and one kind word can calm the nerves.

Whether we’re supporting people through everyday trials and triumphs, or advocating on behalf of those in the community whose voices aren’t being heard, we strive every day to make a positive difference to the lives of the people we support.

Because for us, enough is not enough. We want safer, fairer, brighter, better – for the people we serve and all humanity.

And we couldn’t do it without you.

Year 11 Psychology Holiday Program

There’s a great opportunity for the Year 11 cohort to take part in our current Psychology program this October holidays.

The presenter has 16 years of experience in curriculum development, ranging from Chemistry to Physics to Biology and Psychology. She currently teaches both Biology and Psychology and has piloted new Australian curriculum programs and resources at Geraldton Grammar School.

With such a strong subject background as well as her personal skills as a classroom presenter, it’s no wonder that her courses have proven so successful.
