Please do not send your child to school if they have these symptoms. It can take several days for RAT tests to turn positive once symptoms develop. Infectious period can start in the 48 hours before symptoms develop. Please consider your

As outlined in our Principal’s communication to families on 4 May, families should now be using normal absentee notification procedures via phone or email. More details can be found on the Portal here: https://portal.ststephens.wa.edu.au/parent-and-student/plan-the-day/absentee-info.html.
For students who may be missing assessments, including Examinations and EST’s, the Assessment Policy requires medical documentation of the reasons for absence due to illness. This is usually a medical certificate. In the case of COVID-19 it is either: your child’s message from the WA Health Department confirming registration of the positive RAT result or confirmation of the positive PCR test result, or a doctor’s letter confirming the COVID-19 diagnosis and the date of infection. Please send this to ABSENTEESDUNCRAIG@ststephens.wa.edu.au as usual.
Absentees will advise teaching staff of medical documentation provided. Students should email their teacher if they are missing any assessment because the follow up procedure depends on the circumstances. Wherever possible, teaching staff or our Examination Coordinator will reschedule missed assessments. In some cases, an alternative assessment might be provided and in a few rare cases it might not be possible to reschedule so Assessment Policy procedures will be followed and communicated to the student.
